for some reason, i couldnt find it in the syslog. maybe it happened earlier than i thought which in this case i dont have the syslog. however, i noticed that file transfering also got slowed. from my experience with computers (my job) i know that sometimes 1 defect sata cable can couse other devices on sata to not work properly. so, i replaced ALL the sata cables in my server with new ones, and everything works perfectly for about a month now. thanks for the help

yes it was me about the smart test. i have all the syslogs from last month so yes i should have the session from when it was disabled. it happened this week cant remember the day. what am i looking for?

hello, ive bought a new 3tb disk for my array, pre-cleared it before adding. smart is good. after 2 days - the disk has been disabled.. i replaced the sata+power cables, changed the sata connector on the board, new config - and it worked good for about a month.. now its been disabled again. i tried to clear it again with preclear - and i get this error: SORRY: Disk /dev/sdd MBR could NOT be precleared why is that? smart seems good. in the past, i had a new disk disabled, but new config solved it for me. array of 10 disks, including parity.
