When I get a chance I'll test 6.1 and 6.2 in a vm. But they are both pretty old now and a lot has changed. 6.3.5 works. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm on version 6.1.3 and when opening the plugin after installing it for the first time I just get "Please wait, retrieving plugin information" and it never loads. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for all of your help! I've got everything running perfectly! My appdata folder shows up under disk1 but I'm going to leave it like that for now, don't want to "break" anything now that everything is working.

That makes perfect sense. I checked the contents of the cache drive as suggested above and I do not see the appdata directory in there. I think what maybe happened is that I installed needos MariaDB docker prior to making the appdata share and I believe it created the share automatically (even though it wasn't showing up under my shares). I say this because of the image below. So because cache only wasn't selected it got moved to the data disks and then when I created it while following your tutorial it just made it visible but it was already spread out across the data disks and even though I selected "cache only" it didn't take. Is that right? I have no idea what I'm talking about hehe.

Hey gridrunner, thanks so much for the tutorial. I'm trying to follow along but so far I'm a bit confused by the appdata share. For the SickBeard part of the instructions you mention that your appdata share is /mnt/user/appdata/sickbeard but then later during the SABnzbd part you mention that your appdata folder is /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd, so one is /user and the other /cache. On my system I created the appdata folder and selected the "Use cache disk: Only" option. When I try to map the paths to my appdata share, it doesn't show up under cache, it only appears under /mnt/user/appdata like your first example. Can you please clear this up? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I'm a total noob. Thanks!

That's the first thing I tried but no dice. It's bizarre that installing a plugin through the web GUI screwed thing up this bad.

I will look into it. Any idea how to get the web GUI back?

Hi all, total newbie here. I was trying to install SAB following the tutorial linked below, when I got to "2. Installing plugins", I copied to URL given for SAB and pasted it into the GUI instead of doing wget through Telnet. It started to download and it confirmed that it installed but after a clicked OK (or whatever the option was) my GUI went blank. I can access my shares and connect via Telnet but the GUI will not load . Any ideas?

Got 5 for $140 each on Amazon! They're back to $170 now. I'm a noob and I'm just starting my build, will these be ok as data drives?

Gotcha, so I can only connect a single SATA drive to each SAS port? If that's the case and I want to add more drives then I'd have to go with a PCI expansion card or should I make use of the SATA II ports?

I have switched gears a bit and I'm considering this build now: Motherboard - SuperMicro X10SL7-F CPU - Intel Core i3-4170 3.7 GHz]Intel Core i3-4170 3.7 GHz Memory - Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) CT2KIT102472BD160B Case - Fractal 804 PSU - Seasonic SS-460FL2 I like the form factor of this case and it is able to hold (10) 3.5" drives. I'm thinking (10) 6TB drives, 8 for data with the remaining two for parity/cache which leaves me with 48TB for data. It also looks like more drives can be added using a multimount from OWC. I'm thinking of connecting the drives like this: 8 SATA data drives to the 8 SAS2 ports 1 SATA cache drive to the first SATA III port 1 SATA parity drive to the second SATA III port Leaving the 4 SATA II ports unused. I read in another thread that you can connect up to 4 SATA hard drives to a SAS port using a reverse breakout cable but when I look up one of these cables the connector doesn't look like a regular SATA connector which is what all of the ports on this motherboard look like. I'm just trying to think ahead for future expandability options. It would be great if someone can clear this up and I'd also like to hear your thoughts on this build.

By the way I just checked out the memory, it is unbuffered after all so it looks like I'm good.

Thanks for the reply. I'd love a Xeon but I'm trying to keep my cost low, maybe later. I will stay with 16GB, thanks for pointing out the incompatibility with the memory. The Antec power supply I chose is actually made by Seasonic. I've had the same one in my gaming PC for about 2 years with no issues. With that information would you still switch it out for one of the ones you suggested?

Hi all, looking to put together my first NAS. Initially I will be using it to back up data as well as for SABnzbd, Sick Beard, Couch Potato and SQL. Do the specs below look ok? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nWvPdC I'm starting with one Norco SS-500 and will eventually add two additional ones for a total of 15 drives. Is the Antec Nine Hundred a good choice? I was also considering the Sharkoon T9 case. Also wanted to know if my choice of power supply is sufficient and also if 16GB is overkill or would 8GB be ok?

Just took a look at your rig, so it's pretty loud then? That could be a problem, the room this would go in is not climate controlled - it's very cold in the winter but no A/C in the summer.

I think it only supports up to 2TB.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I just have a few external drives so my needs aren't too demanding. I just want something with a substantial amount of storage with some disaster recovery capability to store my media library and some of my personal files and Final Cut Pro projects. Is there anything you can see with the linked divide that would be problematic or you would advice against?
