I know this is a stupid question but I am new to VPN. I set all of this up and did not run into any problems. My question is this though, I know you are connected through a VPN when the torrent is downloading but do you need to worry about when you actually click the link on your browser that is not VPN connected. For example, I am on my laptop with no vpn and in Chrome I click a torrent link which automatically sends it to Deluge on my Unraid box which is connected through VPN. My laptop was not connected to VPN when I clicked the link, is that a problem? Thanks!

@gridrunner, thanks I will give that a shot. I would prefer to enter the password each time for security reasons. Using the ovpn on my iPhone prompts for password but I never thought of using that on Windows. I thought I had to use the pre-made msi. Thanks, Scott

Sorry if this has been asked before but does Play Random work on a tv series level in the docker version. I have a emby server running on a windows machine and use the windows media center client to watch. I am able to click play on a tv series and choose Play Random which will play an episode from any season of that show. i switched my server to the docker, still using Windows Media Center to watch, and I can no longer click play on a TV series (it does nothing) but I can do it on a Season level. we use this ALL the time. Is anyone running this with the "Allow Auto-Login" unchecked? I tried doing that and re-downloading the MSI to my windows machine,uninstalled old client and installed new one. When I goto connect I get prompted for my password (which is what I want) but it never connects, saying it cannot establish a connection. I re-added the check to "Allow Auto-Login", re-did the install process and it works fine. I tried several times before I realized the problem was trying to run it without "Allow Auto-Login" checked. I have my system all up and running and want to add a cache disk for the purpose of VMs. I have been following this tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij8AOEF1pTU and added my cache drive. It prompted me to format it when I brought the array online and I made sure the appdata, system and domains cache setting was set to Prefer. According to the video I should have had a button at the bottom of the Main page for Move Now (Mover), I do not have that. I also thought I read that in Setting, Scheduler I should see settings for Mover once it sees the cache drive. I was looking for the Move Now button to setup the folders (appdata,system and domains) on the cache drive. I tried manually moving them but that did not work out, it's like unraid does not know about the cache drive even though it shows up correctly. Do I have to wait until 3:40am tomorrow for everything to "sync" up or am I missing something. Sorry for all the stupid questions lately, it has been about 10 years since I did anything new with unraid....my old system works flawlessly but want the new features now Thanks, Scott

Sorry for such a stupid question but I do not fully get it....yet Is the purpose of having a high end video card just to connect directly to a monitor from the unraid server or is their an advantage when you are "streaming" a VM desktop as well? I plan to create a few VMs but do not plan on hooking anything up directly to the unraid server, I will be connecting remotely to the VMs via RDP or something like that, Will adding a high end card enhance what I am doing for game play or movie streaming? For some reason I have it stuck in my head that this will only help if you connect directly to the unraid server, please tell me I am wrong Thanks, Scott

I setup a new server and want to copy everything from my old server. I setup the new server with parity at first then decided to stop the array (was still rebuilding but nothing on the server), unassign the Parity drive and perform the copy without the Parity. This is working well (and fast). After all the copying is done can I just assign the Parity drive and start the array? Will doing that erase anything already on my Data drives? Thanks, Scott

Hello I went to upgrade my version from 5.0.6 to the most current and realized after that my cpu is i686 and not compatible. I went to revert back by copying my backup files over and now my key will not boot. I tried doing a syslinux and that seemed to help it boot but I still cannot connect to the webpage of the server. I think I need the original setup for 5.0.6. I emailed support and got an auto response asking me to post first. Thanks, Scott

I am currently on 4.5.4 and would like to upgrade to the latest version. I have not upgraded before because everything before was just working, so why mess with it What would be the best way to upgrade from 4.5.4 to the latest stable. I have upgraded in the past but since I am so far behind I don't know if there is something special I have to do. Thanks, Scott

Thanks, I ran checkdiisk and it did fix some errors. I am running the data rebuild again but checked the syslog first and did not see any of those same errors. Hopefully it's fixed now. Thanks for your help!

We replaced our aging unraid server with a new one recently. We had everything running and found a bad disk, we had a spare. I replaced the disk and I checked the box for "Start will bring the array on-line, start Data-Rebuild, and then expand the file system." and started the rebuild. The rebuild finished and I had all green lights but we could not connect to it thru windows. I found out Samba was stopped, so I stopped the array and go the same wrong disk error. I just ran the rebuild again and get the same problem. I attached my syslog because I don't know what else to try. I read about HBA but we dont have a Gigabyte MB and I dont see any mention of it in the syslog. Thanks for any help you can give. Scott syslog-2015-01-08.txt

Thanks. I usually always shutdown thru the web GUI but I could not connect to it. I had no choice but to manually shut it down. Jut wanted to see if someone could tell me if I have to do something about the 7 errors that showed up after the parity check.
