  1. I have been away from unraid for a long time and now getting back to it. I already have an unraid 5.0 server that i use for storing media, but just built a new computer and installed 6.0 on it. I plan to use this as a plex server but how can can i link my movies folder from my other server so the plex can add the movies? (I'm new with linux) Thanks
  2. Has anyone able to upload anything from their IOS devices aka photos and videos?
  3. owncloud is new to me, you able to set up server on the unraid thou? The auto update doest really work well on plex and can't seem to upload videos which is a deal breaker for me. Will look into owncloud and see.
  4. Well I only have a 5gb free space which is not enough as I have 3 phones synced to that acct. Meaning I would have to clear out every few days maybe. I wished they offer a lower monthly price for like 30gb instead of 1TB as I don't need all that space.
  5. I tested this out, works well but it doesn't upload videos?
  6. Cool I'll look into this and last thing can you change the default folder for photo uploads to another location? $PLEX_HOME/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Media Upload/Mobile Photos --> I'd like to have my photos in the picture folder on my server.
  7. I was not aware of that Plex has this feature, I currently use Plex to stream movies in the house thou. Just curious does it upload itself when it connects to wifi or u have to manually do it each time?
  8. I've been using dropbox to auto upload my / wife's photos from our phones then sync to unraid. Since my subscription is almost up I'm trying to find a different way to sync our photos from phone to server. Any idea here? Thanks
  9. thanks for your comments, I"ll look into reseating plugs and etc.. Will report back on what I find and etc..
  10. I precleared a new drive and it passed w/ no errors, ran a rebuild and everything is back to normal. I went to reboot the system and the new drive is redballed!! shortysmart.txt syslog-2014-08-07.txt
  11. I'll check safemode when I get home. I also ran unmenu and that said, no errors, 32 days last checked for parity. I'll double check again before I do anything. I just picked up a new drive today.
  12. After I made the second screen shot, I noticed there is no parity check button. I think its cuz i still have a redball drive in my array.
  13. also my Parity Status = Data is invalid - should i run a parity check again before I swap out the dead drive?
  14. I'll look into RMA this drive otherwise I'll just pick up another 2TB and swap it out. Thanks
  15. I got a red ball data drive, so I ran a smartctl short test. I see a powercount error? I did try swapping drive to different port and same thing. short_smartctl.txt
  16. I was trying to install dropbox app and i kept getting xml errors related to installplg. Of course I thought this file was related to dropbox so i went into /user/local/sbin/ and rm installplg. Big mistake!! So I have not rebooted the machine yet cuz i know nothing will run w/o this file? Also how can i put this file back in the place. Thanks
  17. I currently have an unraid server where I keep my movies and other important files. I have an external drive I been using to make second back up of my important files aka pictures and etc but its soon full. I'm running into of how should I expand my second back up disk. Should I just build another unraid server and just keep both servers sync to each other, is this a good idea?
  18. I have started preclearing one of my drives via telnet / screen but I had to reboot my computer. How can i log back into telnet / screen to see the percentage and etc on the preclear process?
  19. I just got this drive 3 weeks ago and yesterday I got an email stating array issues. I have swaped out cables and still same issue. I ran a short smart test . root@Tower:~# smartctl -a -tshort /dev/sdi smartctl 6.2 2013-07-26 r3841 [i686-linux-3.9.11p-unRAID] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-13, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Device Model: ST2000VN000-1H3164 Serial Number: W1H2SB53 LU WWN Device Id: 5 000c50 06e463e82 Firmware Version: SC42 User Capacity: 2,000,398,934,016 bytes [2.00 TB] Sector Sizes: 512 bytes logical, 4096 bytes physical Rotation Rate: 5900 rpm Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall] ATA Version is: ACS-2, ACS-3 T13/2161-D revision 3b SATA Version is: SATA 3.1, 6.0 Gb/s (current: 3.0 Gb/s) Local Time is: Sun Feb 16 16:49:40 2014 EST SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability. 20. I have 5.05 pro, the total size and free space don't match via windows explorer and unraid server main page. Seems the windows is reporting wrong info where unraid main page is correct according to my figures. Its about 1 TB difference. Anyone else notice this?
