  1. It's a browser issue. This whole time it's been Chrome not showing the page right. Opened in Firefox and it's great. I had re-seated the CPU, then replaced the NIC and at one point the drive list of un-assigned slots showed up, then couldn't get it to come up again. Had an epiphany and tried Firefox, worked great. Actually works in a different instance of Chrome, even. Holy hell.
  2. Safe mode looks about the same. Still no disks showing, but with the added "System running in safe mode" at the bottom of the screen. Started a diagnostics download, it's been sitting like this for the last 10 minutes or so. I'm about to at least re-seat the CPU, though you'd think that a CPU connection issue would kinda be an all-or-nothing situation. I might have another CPU that would work in this board sitting around to swap out. Still trying stuff. Just strange that it got weird like that all of a sudden. Also going to try a different NIC. Shouldn't be the issue, but, never know. It's something I can try.
  3. I did try safe mode earlier, I'll try it again and post a complete diagnostics.

  5. Well, this one is interesting. Have been running the same basic config of UnRAID for at least 10 years, upgrading both the hardware and OS over time. Of course, I've had various issues here and there, but always able to be resolved. This one, not so much... yet. I periodically check my drive stats on the Main page for full drives, failed drives, temp, etc. Last night the drive list was blank. No disks showing including the cache drives, boot USB. Nothing. Array was still available over SMB, though. The Dashboard page was similarly devoid of information. Wouldn't show CPU usage, temperature, memory usage, network usage, etc. But, it showed the up-time. And at 220+ days I figure I'll reboot it. After reboot it has the same issue. I notice the CPU usage stats are odd, they show usage as "Infinity %" with a total usage of "1.7976931348623157e+308 %" Sure, I assume that's "Infinity %" x 4 CPU Cores? Anyway, I fully shut down to see if a cold boot might make things happy. Well, I'm assuming coincidentally that's when my slightly over-loaded power supply decided to give up the ghost (11x spinning drives, LSI SAS, Dual 10Gb nic on a 500w PSU... yeah.) New 600w power supply put in, boots right up... but same behavior. Had stopped the array before either the reboot or the shut-down and after the power supply replacement it says incorrect array config, which is understandable that one drive might not be getting power or something through the rats nest of adapters and Y cables. But I can't see the config to see what's not happy. System log (which I can only get from the Tools menu, the pop-up window from the header menu brings up a blank page that never populates) shows a few errors. Some with disks, one with a USB device: "usb 3-3: device descriptor read/64, error -71" I pull my LSI SAS card that's the drive controller for about half of my disks, and the NVMe adapter for my cache. Same behavior. I moved the BOOT USB to a different port/controller, error stays on the same USB port, boot moves with the physical move. Still the same behavior. I also pulled all disks from controllers, same behavior. I built a new USB boot drive with a clean install of 6.10.3 (was running 6.10.2, but only back to 6.10.3 was available with the builder utility.) With a clean install the same behavior persists. It's not an UnRAID config issue. I reset the BIOS, same. I updated the BIOS, same. I reduced to a single CPU core, same. I pulled one DIMM at a time, same. I turned off all temperature and fan monitors, same. I'm sure I've tried other things and forgotten at this point. I also "upgraded" the plain 6.10.3 install to 6.11.5, as you probably guessed, still doing the same thing. I'm hammering at the "Trial" install to reduce the likelihood that I lose my config on my licensed USB drive. The USB 3-3 device could have been failing this whole time and not be related at all. Whatever it is, I'm kind of stumped. I'd kind of like to nail it down to the actual issue and maybe replace the Motherboard or CPU, but not both, if I can help it. Especially if it's one of those: "Oh, this happens when [x] is being stupid, here's how to fix it..." kind of things. Any ideas? Basic system hardware that hasn't moved, yet.   6. Not really. It would mainly be academic since I don't have any end devices that could really saturate it in "normal life", anyway. If I get around to upgrading my UnRaid hardware then I might try to tackle it a bit harder.
  7. These are various generations of I3 and I7. In this test the iperf3 process on the I3-4160 (in an Optiplex 9020) stayed around 13% and the I7-7700 (Optiplex 7050) barely showed 2% for the faster transfer, the other direction the I3 sat around 20% and the I7 peaked at 3% for the slower transfer.
  8. Between my machine and the media PC (through 2 QNAP switches) iperf3 showed 4.39Gb one direction and 5.39Gb the other.

Tried a direct test from my computer to the media computer using the fiber I have running (my desktop is about 3 feet from its switch and the Media PC is less than a foot from its switch), just taking the switches out of the loop, but my x520 does not like the 10gTek SFP+ optics. Being its the same card in the Media PC and my kid's computer, I didn't even try with them. Goes in to full error mode even through a reset, though the Amazon description says "Intel" and a review does mention using it with an x520... maybe I'll look in to this more. But, I did a DAC between the media PC and my kid's computer, being they're about 15 feet (as the tucked cable runs) from each-other and got about the same 500MB/s in NetIO and about 400MB/s with file transfers (both SATA SSD, Pioneer, of course.) I wouldn't expect the (non RAID) SATA SSD to SATA SSD transfer to be any quicker, of course, but I was hoping NetIO would move a bit more. But, the whole point was the switches, anyway, and it doesn't sound like they're the limiting point in the data transfer that I can see, at least not lower than I can seem to measure with the end equipment I'm using.
