  1. I have been using unraid for about a month now and absolutely love it. I set it up with some old drives 5x1tb WD green drives (from 2008-2009 with smart errors) to really test it out I made a lot of files of 1G to 5G files with random bits and got MD5 hash tags for all the files after stress testing (nostop random reads from the network for about a week) I had the oldest drive fail replaced the drive with another drive just as old and started to rebuild it failed at about 25% replace it with a brand new 2tb and tried to rebuild again it work to my amazement. all files Passed the MD5 checks after setting it up for with my 2x 3tb, 2x 2tb, and 120gb SSD it ran great installed Windows 10 Pro and used it just like any other computer. then started having memory errors..... Memory test indicated that dimm1 was failing swapped the memory and dimm1 failed again... new motherboard installed and started it up ready to rebuild the array... nope.. started right up and windows started also checked every thing... perfect... TL;DR I love this OS... got me thinking about another build ~no data drives ~no parity drive ~SSD only ~have the vDisk file copy autoMAGIClly to a network share (via cronjob the does not disappear every time I restart the machine.....) ~use the WiFi network card for access instead of the ethernet port the reasoning behind this is I hate how windows 10 locks it self to a computer (UUID) it is a b***h to transfer your key to a new machine this seem to be the lowest cost solution to this problem of cheep hardware I seem to get..
  2. I too love old systems this will soon be installed IMHO better than dosBox only read from once I open the box 3 months ago to check data integrity and installed it to a 32MB CFCard worked great
  3. yes I do have it installed along with ntfs-3g but now I feel like a total jack*** reboot server is key thanks for the help
  4. might be a noob question but how do I go about data migration from a USB HDD (NTFS) I have tried to pass the USB drive through to a Windows 10 VM to no avail - made sure it is checked in VM setting then started VM but, It does not show in windows. In SSH via putty I have tried fdisk -l (with VM stopped)and the drive does not list also the /dev does not show any drives besides the internal 4 drives sda b c & d what am I doing wrong?
