  1. solved for now. i will make a new post if this happens again and make sure to take a diag before rebooting
  2. My cache drive has been read as unmountable for at least 5 months but i never worried about it since i saw no problem with what i was doing anyway. Have a couple questions: What is the cache device meant for? How to set it back to mountable? I assume its meant to hold files that will load faster, but i can only speculate. harmnas-diagnostics-20170314-1904.zip
  3. how long does the rebuild take? doers it depend on storage ?
  4. what do you mean when you say rebuild been looking around the forums regarding this issue and rebuild constantly comes up
  5. smart is enabled. below are diagnostics harmnas-diagnostics-20170314-1224.zip
  6. you mean on the server itself or through the GUI ? Just want to clarify
  7. updated and below are the new diagnostics harmnas-diagnostics-20170314-1129.zip
  8. Today I noticed my VM was offline and was wondering why I check the unRAID gui and didnt see any issue but after reloading the page nothing updated as if the page was frozen. I checked the VM and saw that it was frozen as well and i attempted a restart from the GUI dashboard to nothing happening. So i rebooted the entire server and it came back online with a huge red x on disk 1 saying device is disabled, contents emulated. below is my diagnostics report harmnas-diagnostics-20170313-2303.zip
  9. so if i do nothing and allow the BIOS to get to where it asks for me to login i dont have to do anything at all? i cant just login within my network? i tried that and it just says the server is down
  10. basically after i connect a monitor and reset there is a screen that asks me to choose from 3 options (unraid / unraid gui / something else not sure) if i do not choose anything it will ask for a login and password using BIOS. if i choose option 2 it boots up the green unraid login screen where i type my login and password and it goes to the GUI from there. attached below is the diagnostics report for my server harmnas-diagnostics-20170205-0050.zip
  11. Before i had an issue with my server every time i reboot, shut down, or force shut down the server, it would automatically log back in and i would have full access to the unRaid GUI over my network. Now, every time i go through any of those procedures i have to connect a monitor to the server or keep a dedicated monitor there just to login after a reset. Is there a way to have the server automatically login as it was able to originally?
  12. After i set my cache disk to xfs and reformatted it later it eventually went back to unmountable for some odd reason. is there any reasoning behind this?
  13. thanks i remember reading that on the wiki. since i only have 1 cache disk ill just go with xfs.
  14. is it better to use a btrfs or xfs when using cache. i was reading the wiki and it seems like using btrfs has a lot of drawbacks with the lack of fixing errors. can i just use xfs for the cache disk instead?
