  1. Thank you. I didn't know where to start looking in the diagnostic files.
  2. My unraid server randomly shuts down 1 to 2 time a month. It always happens at night / very early in the morning. I do have an UPS, but no power losses during the time of the shutdowns. It just happened last night. Any help would be appreciated. server-diagnostics-20250519-0903.zip
  3. Everything was working perfectly, until I messed with the network settings. original setup: cloudflare hosting, DNS A record showing correct IP address (same as IP chicken and cloudflare-DDNS docker logs) unifi UMD pro, with port forwarding to NginX docker, HTTP ans HTTPS hardware: motherboard has 2 10gig rj45 ports one port was connected to a 1 gig switch with static ip address( .2 .1 is my UDM pro) I got a 10gig switch and connected the server to on the second 10 gig port in unraid I set up bonding with failover everything still worked while looking at my speeds I realized I had it set up as 1gig port primary and the 10 gig port as the failover Under settings>network setting>interface rules, I switched them around so interface eht0 was the 10gig connection now I can't access organizr from the web (organizr.myaddress..com) when I try I get error code 522 I can't connect to NginX internally (bridge or host network) i can connect to Organizr internally (bridge network) How do I set up network setting? bonus question, in docker, what are all the network types? bridge, host, custom : br0--10gig copper ( i think it got created when I named br0 in settings>network settings, and custom : dockernetwork (suggested by yoububer Ibracorp)
  4. Yes, I have. I just finished a successful preclear. zeroing and post read. 29h 33m @ 150MB/s on a 8TB drive Thanks to everyone in this thread (and forum) for your help.
  5. Sooo... one of my memory modules is bad. Ran memtest on all 4 and they failed instantly. took them all out and tested them individually and found one bad. Over 250 errors within the first 30 seconds. Im trying to RMA one set now. I'm running memtest on the other 2 modules now. 3 hours so far so good.

  7. How long would you suggest it run for?
  8. Well... after 17 hours of an extended SMART test on the WD red 8TB (7SGLA7XC). Here are the results. server-smart-20220413-0528.zip
  9. I have been trying to resolve this issue for the past week. system specs: ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II Ryzen 7 3700X DDR4-3000 64GB (16x4) 2 LSI SAS 9211-8i in it mode (HBA) I have 1 WD red 8TB (7SGLA7XC) and 2 Seagate Exos 8TB drives that I've been trying to preclear. They were in an Unraid array pool. I connected them to the HBAs (2 drives on 1 and 1 drive on the other). I ran the preclear on all 3 drives. They all failed at the post read step. I tried preclearing just one drive, WD red, and it failed at the same place. I tried an 500GB drive I had laying around and it passed all the steps. I tried one more time with the WD red and it failed the same way. I updated the mobo bios, and re-flashed both HBAs and disabled the boot drive option. again, failed on the post read step. I connected it to the motherboards sata port and tried, failed again. In one of the diskinfo logs I was getting "Apr 8 23:45:16: Error: shell_exec(/usr/sbin/smartctl --info --attributes -d auto '/dev/sdh' 2>/dev/null) took longer than 10s!" but only that one time. Any help would be apricated. I have a total of 6 8TB drives to preclear and I don't want to waist time if they are all going to fail. Edit: I am running an extended smart self test right now. It's at 90%. It's been running for 10 hours now. SERVER-unassigned.devices.preclear-20220410-0027.zip server-diagnostics-20220412-2029.zip SERVER-unassigned.devices.preclear-20220412-0935.zip
  10. *** I Was wrong. It just failed the post read check *** So yesterday, I ran a test on a 500gb drive with just clear and the post read option (to save time over a 8TB drive). The drive completed all 4 steps successfully. I started a preclear on one of the 8TB drives that was failing yesterday evening. So far everything is going good. It's about 20 min. in at 2%. in the past it wouldn't make it 5 min. and 0%. I'm hopeful your suggestion fixed it. Thank you. ๐Ÿป
  11. if I remember correctly, the first time I tried to preclear with "start multiple sessions", it would not let me select just clear disk. It does now. so, you think erase and preclear is causing the issue? thank you for your help๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘
  12. I was running "enhanced script" and "erase and clear disk" options. All the hard drives are connected to 2 LSI SAS2008 flashed to IT mode (JBOD). I have 2 because I have a 4U 16 bay enclosure and at the time 3TB were the most economical to buy. controller 1 has sdd - WD 8TB and sde - Seagate 8TB controller 2 has sdh - Seagate 8TB I have other drives connected to both controllers FYI: extended smart self test only got to 20% in 2 1/2 hours so I aborted it. server-smart-20220410-0902.zip server-smart-20220410-0915.zip
  13. Hello, I trying to preclear 3 8tb disks, 2 Seagates and 1 Western Digital (a bit slower than the Seagates). They were All in an Unraid pool previously with no issues with parity checks. So far, the 2 Seagates keep failing the "verifying if disk is zeroed" within 10 minutes of starting. I have been stopping the WD preclear to try to fix the issue. I have been using the enhanced script and erase and clear disk options. I have uninstalled UD preclear. Uninstalled tmux in nerd pack, then reinstalled UD preclear twice. this is the third time I tried. how likely is it for both drives to fail in the same way. I have resumed the WD's preclear to see if it passes the "verifying if disk is zeroed". we'll see in the morning. 14. I am completely redoing mu Unraid server and have some questions about cache configurations. I have: 1-1TB NVME SSD 2-used 400GB (Intel DC S3700 enterprise SSDs) 1-250GB SSD (Samsung 840 evo) 1-180GB SSD (Intel 520) 1-128GB SSD (Crucial M4) I Will be using unraid mainly for network storage, Plex (mostly local network streaming 4K, possible transcoding) and the *ARRS. I want to get into some tinkering with linux in VMs. I was thinking: Cache 1 - 1TB NVME SSD - app data share, plex meta data, VMs and VM disk drives (I feel like these app/VMs would benefit form the speed) Cache 2 - 2 400GB intel SSDs (mirrored) - *ARRS share, media share (I feel like *ARRs will have a lot of read/writes but don't need nvme speeds. plus save the HDDS from spinning up all the time. Cache 3 - 250GB DDS - all the other shares. use cache 2 for app data share and plex meta data? should I use the 400GB Intel SSDs separately? Cache 2 and 3 How would you set up the cache pools and shares usage? how would you setup the cache setting and mover? I will be using cache backup app saving to a not cached share.
