Tried the video but no luck. The machine was so close to perfect, apart from the slight annoyance with keyboard and mouse and chrome sometimes freezing but now can't run nested virtual machines.

Hmm docker tools or docker for mac either uses virtualbox or OSX native virtualisation. I've just read you can use vmware fusion with docker-machine so I'm giving that a crack since spaceinvader has shown that will work.

I'm running an OSX VM on unRaid 6.3.3. I'm installing Docker for Mac but it won't let me start the software saying the CPU does not support virtualization. I've tried adding the boot flag for virtualisation on kvm_intel and adding the hyper-v into xml as suggested in this thread: but it doesn't do anything. Hoping someone might have a clue?

Hey just so you aware, incase you weren't, the GTX 100 series cards have OSX drivers now. I have an almost identical build to you, 10.12.4 Sierra, dual e5-2670 with a gtx1080, 64GB ram, pcie-ssd, ssd etc. Not on the wall tho :P. If you plug the GTX 100 series in download the driver first and then you need to use the second display port to get HDMI audio. I have a display port to hdmi convertor. Have fun

I think it should be possible. There was a video on youtube from gridrunner that showed you how to pass-through a harddrive to your VM and then you could use a backup tool to make a backup of your OS onto the hard drive, then it would just be a matter of unplugging the unraid USB and booting from that hard drive and you should be in business... in theory

Using the latest clover and used the Spaceinvader tutorial on youtube. I had 10.12.4 from the get-go so I also followed his other video on upgrading to 10.12.4 and installed the FakeSMC and graphics drivers in the VMWare VM before transferring to a Unraid HDD and converting to an IMG file. It's odd, when it comes to processing tasks, like setting up an IDE and caching all the files, or installing software, it's really fast but the UI, videos and the time displayed up in the top right task bar is in slow motion. I almost missed my bedtime because it was saying it was 8:45 when it was actually 8:59 and I had only just updated the time 15 minutes before that so it seems the 3 seconds to 1 second of real time seems to be happening in lots of places. The VM performed worse on the cache or unassigned drive so I put it back in the array and it performed the same as the video example I had post.

in "top", when im playing the video that process for the VM is using over 200% CPU. I've currently got 6 cores assigned. Does that help anything? When im not moving the mouse or playing video, it'll sit at like 20% cpu or less, but soon as i move around, the CPU jumps up to oer 200%. Thats running "top" on unraid. Mind you windows is at like 800%cpu and it doesn't lag. So frustrating

Nice, i'll give it a shot, got any guides on how to unassign a hd from the array? I'm not using cacheing. I have a NVME drive I have the VM on, I'd like to move that to unassigned and give that a shot.

It must be something to do with either the graphics cards or unraid because the VM runs super fast in VMWare and unRaid is supposed to perform way better than that...

Hello, I've got a unRAID osx VM running 10.12.4 with the second latest nvidia web driver 376 on a gtx950. Now everything seems to be working but it's slightly laggy. It's not as responsive as I was hoping it would be. It's a lot slower than my Macbook Air. When I drag windows around it lags and on the air its smooth. I cannot watch youtube videos, it basically takes 4 seconds to play 1 second and the sound is all glitchy. I've tried assigning 4 cpu cores, 8, 10 i've tried 2gb memory up to 30gb of memory. I don't understand why it's like this. My windows VM and Ubuntu VM is fine. I also tried my GTX 1080 with the latest beta driver and it works but still have the same issues. I'd really love to get this working, I keep hitting the 8GB memory on the Macbook Air, but at least it runs smoothly. In clover i've got the HDMIAudio.kext but i've also ran the HDMIAudio install.sh script on the VM. Perhaps the audio problems are causing the VM as a whole to lag? Got it working, didn't see the the nv_disable bootflag was set :P. GTX 1080 on OSX on unRAID confirmed working :). Just have to disconnect the hdmi cable whilst it gets past its first bit of booting otherwise it wont boot. Weird bug?

Since the Nvidia Pascal drivers are out and lots of people on tonymac are posting they have had success using the 1000 series cards, anybody been able to pass through a 1000 series card? If i passthrough a GTX 950, it boots, if i passthrough a GTX1080 it wont boot. I've enabled the nvidiaweb driver and inject system id in clover. I've updated to the required driver as well. Any ideas guys?

Ah interesting. Thats bit of a pain, i guess my macbook air has the laptop screen to boot first cause I have that plugged in via HDMI all the time and it boots, but yeah, if it has the screen as main boot device then that explains everything lol.
