  1. I got th same "issue"? I have this showing up in the log lately as well.

    its alternating for example

Apr 14 06:43:35 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.7: Enabling MPC IRBNCE

Apr 14 06:43:35 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.7: Intel PCH root port ACS workaround enabled

    and few days later

Apr 17 08:06:59 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: Intel PCH root port ACS workaround enabled

Apr 17 08:12:39 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: Enabling MPC IRBNCE

IOMMU group 46:[8086:8d14] 00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation C610/X99 series chipset PCI Express Root Port #3 (rev d5)

    and

IOMMU group 50:[8086:8d1e] 00:1c.7 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation C610/X99 series chipset PCI Express Root Port #8 (rev d5)

Fiddled around with powertune and also made the update to 6.12.8 are the only things that changed lately. I dont experience any issues but its filling my log. ACS is switched off in the bios and not active on Unraid. PCS ACS override in Unraid VM Manager is also disabled.

I suspect its caused by the powertune -auto trials I ran trying to lower my idle power sonsumption... I have not rebooted since then. Maybe will try that next.

    Any ideas ?

  2. I signed up for the 4bay Plus version, the hardware looks very decent for that price, built quality seems to be ok according to first reviews. Lets see how open they are about their platform, would love to run an Unraid instance on it, else it will be a dumb NAS as long as their software is that buggy (as it seems so far). I needed 4 hdd cases anyway so here I get a kind of powerful hardware on top for a few bucks more. Was considering to build a Home Nas with an i5-12400, would cost 200-300$ more, sure more powerful, but I still have my Supermicro E5 built going strong. Just its power consumption 80W idle is getting a bit pricey;) So I plan to shut it down more often when I have the other NAS going.

  3. Hi there, I installed the clamav docker with the default set up. When started it appears to update and then sit idle. Log shows

When I log in the docker I can manually start the scan with the "clamscan --recursive /scan" command.

Any hint what is wrong here ? And why it is not automatically starting once I start the docker, is most appreciated. TIA

  4. I have the same issue. Brio not running (ligh on no picture/video) when passed through via libvirt or from start. My hope was on a dedicated USB slot whose controller is passed through. Sounds not good folks. I have read a bit about the webcam issues in vms, but was under the impression that a passed through USB controller port should work. bummer :(

Installed it and using it. But take care: by using a webbrowser (in a VM too) it's possible to leak senstive data. Javascript attacks do exist. Browsers have their own prevention mechanisms, which might not be enough in every case.

can you give an example where such VM Browser Leak is / was exploited and what data is being compromised (random temporary host dram bits / cpu cache fragments?) ?

Is that really a serious threat with a modern and updated browser I must worry ?

  6. When I start the android app I can see my unraid server screen for a blink of a second and then the screen goes white. When I check the server logs it shows a successful login. Reinstalled the app - same, resinstalled the plugin - same, restarted the plugin -same same. Since this morning. Any idea whats happening ?

meaning i have no access to the server anymore, no WEBUI in safe mode  or any mode

what did you think else will happen when you isolate the network :) ?  Once you shut down the server you can pull the USB boot stick and manually edit these settings on another computer. (check the Unraid Wiki/ forum to learn how). Then plug back in and start up Unraid. Network should work as before. WebGUI likewise

I want to run 3 windows vm running at the same time, each with gpu and usb pass-through.

besides the issues mentioned from the other posters with the pcie lanes needed for proper GPU usage, you may also run into trouble isolating 3 usb controllers on top of the one you need for the host machine itself. Hot plug virt usb would be an option but I dont trust its performance much...

Yes, though you'd still want devices with deterministic read zeros after trim support, since when support does get implemented it will likely only work with those devices.

Sorry I am a noob ?  What does this mean ELI5, please. :)

I run NVM drives on a 4Drives x 4Lanes PCIe Adapter via the UD Plugin. What must I worry about ?

    TIA

  10. I guess 2nd Gen Threadripper has an excellent $/performance ratio but m.board can be more expensive.

2-4 years old refurbished XEONS may do the job. Decision depends also what HW you want to use along with the VMs and if you have need for passthrough. What do you plan doing in the VMs ?
