What you are describing sounds like what happened to me when I forgot to add Ed's custom xml into the template (or when I edited via the form, which removed my custom xml).

Which lines in Ed's XML? My XML boots my VM and passes through GPU, USB, and other gear.  I'm not sure what lines would be the problem.

Tiano core boot menu. I think you hit delete when its booting to get into the menu. Set the correct resolution for your VM there.

I've tried Delete, F1, F2, F12, all the other F keys, etc. I'm pretty sure one of them is working because at that point, the TitanoCore logo stays on screen and the booting stops. I figure it's because I actually am in the boot menu, but just can't see it.

as mentioned before there are circumstances where, when passing through a gpu you will only see the tianocore logo follwoed by a black screen. Then it won't come up again until the os loads (typically macos) once the gpu drivers have been loaded by the os. this does not occur when using only vnc. it may be able to be solved by injecting graphics drives with clover, but I've never futzed with it.

This is exactly it. I actually am injecting the Nvidia web drivers, and they work in the OS, but don't affect the boot screen from what I can tell.

You can try setting the timeout longer for clover before it auto boots (in the clover configurator ) so its up longer.

Maybe try connecting the 1070 to a different port hdmi/displayport etc. you may see it during the boot process then.

    I'll try with the timeout.

My 1070 has only 1 HDMI port, but with some fidgeting I might be able to try the DP ports.

  5. I've watched Spaceinvader One's video on advanced macOS VM config. I've got almost everything working, except...

    HDMI Audio.

I've copied the HDMI audio XML from my working Windows 10 VM to the macOS VM (and removed the address line, letting the VM manager re-add the line appropriately). I've installed the recommended HDMI audio kext (version 1.1 from the video).

Still, my HDMI audio device does not show up in macOS.

Any ideas or suggestions to fix this?

  6. First, my macOS VM boots and I can use the OS at full resolution on my ultra wide monitor. I've passed my GTX 1070 through and am using the matching (build) Nvidia web drivers. I've checked off all the appropriate places in CloverConfig.

However, when I boot I can't see Clover. When I was using VNC rather than the passed through GPU, I could see Clover just fine. Now, I can't. I'm thinking it has something to do with Clover's resolution setting, but I've tried changing it to all the common resolutions and some weird ones, and no matter, I can't see Clover on boot. (Luckily it boots past Clover just fine.)

Can anyone help me see Clover on boot?

    Thanks!

  7. I got the VM up and running using the latest Clover (4658) and High Sierra from install media. I made all the changes to the XML as directed in the initial video.

However, I have no network connection from inside the VM.

Here's my xml. Do you see anything amiss?

    Thanks in advance.

Nevermind. Now it works for some reason.

  8. I'm building some VMs using the OVMF bios choice (always used SeaBIOS previously) and on booting the VM I want to change some BIOS settings. I'm pressing DELETE repeatedly on reboot of the VM but I never get into the BIOS settings screen (as many videos I've watched have shown I should be able to do).

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

  9. I've been passing one of my USB 2.0 busses through for a long time (1a.0 called USB1). Now I want to pass through my USB 3.0 bus. However, here's what I find from the various commands and SysDevs. The problem is that both USB4 (USB 3.0 port I want to pass through) and USB3 (one of the other USB 2.0 ports) both show up as 14.0 with a readlink command and my unRAID USB is on USB3 (the Kingston DataTraveller).

So I don't know whether or not its safe to pass the IOMMU group that 0.14 is in through (that's group 2 from what I can tell....but maybe not!).

    Thoughts?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I can't seem to get any version of v5 to open the WebUI. Any suggestions?  I can get v4 to open the WebUI.

I figured it out because I was having this problem too. The link takes you to http:// where it requires https:// so click the link, edit the URL in your browser, and stick "http://" in front of it. Then the web UI loads.

  11. This is curious.

I set all the variables the way suggested in @adoucette's video. I can access the web UI by pointing me browser at: 10.0.0.10:9000 (I used the default port for now). I can log in and create buckets. I can even back-up to them with CloudBerry Backup running on my Mac. Yay!

However, my right-click menu for the new Minio docker app does not have "Web UI" as an option. Any ideas?
