  1. Here is requested output. Am i missing something?
  2. Thanks everyone. The drive is meant to be fast read and write but obviously probably not as fast as NVMe. I was looking for a centralized place to run my games and maybe some VMs off of in the future. With so many parts (client network, main network, client drive, Unraid drive system) i am trying to find some good troubleshooting steps and what the outcome should be. For example if i use iperf, what should i be getting. Like is there a chart that says if your using these kind of things here is the ball park you should be in? As for the drive size, i figured since Unraid could use all the space of all drive in its main pool that if figured out a way to do that in its cache pool. If not perhaps someone should tell Unraid? Because its showing that the cache drive is 6TB? Thanks for the help
  3. So the goal: To create a cache pool that has the best read/write speeds to be able to run as a game drive or other high demand function. What has been done so far: I first started off with a cache drive with 4 1TB SSDs. I put them into a RAID10 with btrfs. I have not made any other changes to the default settings. I then added two more 4TB SSDs. So total of 6 drives. It currently shows that i have the 6TB i am expecting. I created a share to reside on the Cache drive. Over the last couple days i have been able to move about a TB of data to it and its decent. The first observation of an issue?: Earlier today i started to copy about another 3TBs to the Unraid. This is data that will reside on the spinning drives when done. With that, i would expect the cache drive to get to about 4TBs full still giving me about 2 TBs of space. The thing is it got about 1.5 TB into the copy and then said the drive was full. Unraid showed i still had more then 2 TB of space available? I started mover to clear out the cache and i can move files to it again. The second observation of an issue?: I have a 10GB network between my systems. I am currently coping another TB of data over but i am hovering in the low 70 MB/s of transfer speed coming from a Windows 10 machine. Questions: 1.) Is 70MBs a good transfer rate on a 10GB network going to a RAID 10 btrfs cache drive? 2.) Are there performance gains by adding more drives in the RAID10 on unraid like "normal" raid10? 3.) Is there something with uneven drive size in a raid10 when it comes to reporting space? 4.) Are there any other settings i should tune in order to get the best speed Server: PowerEdge R620 Unraid 6.8.2 Please share the thoughts. Thanks
  4. So i have an idea that i am looking to try. Essentially i am wondering if it is possible to put the "management/webgui" on one network and have the Shares be a part of another network? I have two NIC cards and am just wondering if there is a way to segment that kind of traffic? Thanks
  5. So i have been doing some digging and not finding any answers to the questions i have. Not sure if i am not searching the right topics or not. Most of the stuff i am finding are from before 2014. The setup: I am revisiting unRAID after a few months hietias. I had to abandon it back then for various reasons but looking at revisit. I am looking at essentially combining three machines. My main server, my game machine and my stream/editing machine. Plus do a couple other things with it. So i have a couple questions with this. The first is based of thinking i will eventually need two unRAID servers (more on that in a minute). Is there anything in the software to "stack/cluster" servers? Looking to stack the unRAID server like a lot of SANs can stack and act as one unit? The biggest reason for this is that my server right now runs with three LSI hba cards giving me 24 hard drives. This basically means no room on the motherboard or case for more PCIe cards. The second question: Does anyone have any recommendations for a motherboard/case suggestion to have more then 24 drives and be able to hold more then three GPUs with other expansion slots? I was trying to do some research to see if there were anything like external hard drive expansion cases or something but not having much luck.
  6. So i am not sure where to start with this. I am new to unRAID in general so not sure what info is needed or how to get it. This has happened to me twice in the last 5 days and has me a bit worried for the future. So after gracefully shutting down the Windows 10 VM i have (only VM created), the whole unRAID server becomes unresponsive. I can ping it and that's it. No webinterface, putty, or console. I have to hard power down or reset. When things come back up my cache drive is empty and i need to readd drives to it. I use the cache pool as my location for my VM. Any thoughts on how to get logs out of a unresponsive system?
  7. Yes. I just applied the update and now everything is mounting and i am able to see everything. Thank you.
  8. I was able to use your command along with the admin user account on the NAS to connect. For some reason its not liking the other usernames that i have created so far so am looking into that.
  9. So cleared the log files and tried to mount again. This is what i get in the log Jan 30 07:07:57 Mount SMB/NFS command: mount -t cifs -o rw,nounix,iocharset=utf8,_netdev,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,username=guest,password=******* '//daisy/Movies' '/mnt/disks/daisy_Movies' Jan 30 07:07:57 Mount of '//daisy/Movies' failed. Error message: mount error(5): Input/output error Refer to the mount.cifs( manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
  10. Thanks. I will reboot in the morning when the current process is done and see what happens. Thanks.
  11. It just sits and spins and doesnt show anything. I also tried removing it and reinstalling it and i got the following errors.
  12. Ok. I tried a different share on the old nas. One that is smaller in size. I recall seeing something about size. These two shares I'm trying to mount are in the TB size, like 10 and 12 TB. Could it be a time out issue?
  13. The share it's using is set to guest access and I can see it from other machines just by going to the share (no login). Is there a different location for logs since that one log button doesn't show anything?
  14. The array is in the middle of its initial parity setup and am wondering if that's causing the issue. Will check check in the morning when it's done.
