  1. I have a present for all people suffering from no audio through HDMI or DisplayPort on a passed though nVidia GPU. First install the latest web drivers for 10.12.4 (378.05.05.05f02). Remove any HDMIAudio kext from Clover's directories. Install this kext via it's install script (shamelessly stolen from Gridrunner and modified for this kext):- https://www.dropbox.com/s/63oepr106v0wurz/HDMI Audio 1.1 Installer.zip?dl=0 Enjoy sound from any HDMI or DisplayPort on your graphics card An optional install is Soundflower + SoundFlowerBed to enable volume control on your Videocard output
  2. The weirdness is that if I boot up the VM with the DVI-HDMI dongle as the output and change the output to HDMI sound continues to work (with or without soundflower/soundflowerbed audio routing). If I boot still directly connected to HDMI sound is then gone, do a another cable swap to/from the DVI adaptor all is ok via HDMI again. The first time I ever booted the VM I had working HDMI sound out, upon the 2nd and all subsequent boots it was dead, so went with the DVI-Adaptor (it only cost me £2.50 on eBay! ). Still using SoundFlower for volume control but just like a real mac is does get out of sync every now and again but thats easily fixed by re-selecting the buffer size in SoundFlowerBed. Didn't bother to test the audio routing on the 750ti since it's working fine, but from the symptoms I don't think a soft-loaded bios would fix it anyway, but I suspect it would fix 'black-screen' issues some people have on some Nvidia cards as that is a card BIOS issue.
  3. DVI to HDMI dongle no longer required for Audio issues anymore. Since part of the Video install guide uses soundflower only one more piece of software is required:- https://github.com/mLupine/SoundflowerBed/releases/tag/2.0.0-release Simply install and select sound output in Sound Preferences Soundflower (2ch). Then use SoundflowerBed to change to the correct HDMI channel, Voila sound working perfectly with no dongle and you get a proper HDMI Volume control as an added bonus Scratch this tip The audio weirdness came back. Soundflowerbed didn't fix the problem after all... What did fix the problem until a reboot was unplugging the hdmi cable from the DVI adaptor back into the hdmi port. Strange indeed.
  4. It depends upon your card's ROM. My ASUS 750ti OC 2gb had to be flashed with the ASUS Strix BIOS before I could get HDMI out working on bare metal before I started using unRaid. The card only has 1 HDMI and two DVI + VGA so had no choice... Little did I know that it would output Audio via a DVI-to-HDMI dongle (thanks Gridrunner!) Mine could easily handle the higher clocks. I also modded the Strix BIOS to even higher clocks with the Kepler BIOS Tweaker for more performance in OSX as well as Windows:- http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/746630-Flashing-and-overclocking-an-ASUS-GTX-750Ti-WIP You can also load a different card's ROM via the method posted elsewhere in the lime tech forums. I didn't try for Audio, in the end found a simpler solution (soundflowerbed), but did check it works with my GTX1070 & Windows VM (I used a different ROM to up the power limit of my KFA/Founders Edition card to get higher boost clocks in Windows since my card is water cooled with Arctic Accelero Hybrid III-140 ).
  5. intel 3770s, 24gb, GTX 1070 for Windows, 750ti for osx. I have enough usb (just mobo no add in card) for hot plug in windows (usb2) and hot plug usb3 in osx + still have ports for the unraid stick + another device. Mobo is an asrock B75 (socket 1155). OSX working perfectly. Had the hdmi the audio issue so bought a dvi to hdmi adaptor that fixed the sound issue in Sierra. Also using an asus bluetooth adaptor for my apple keyboard + Magic Trackpad - zero issues with this setup. It's worth noting I had to flash my 750ti gpu bios with another card's before it would display via hdmi (on bare metal) when it was a pure hackintosh. GPU Bios has always made a big difference when it comes to 750ti's and osx. Which brings me to my point, rather than requiring an adaptor I believe it's possible to load a gpu bios via kvm (replacing the cards current one). I'm going to experiment with some different gpu bios's 'soft loaded' and report back. Not that it's a big deal, my 750ti is outputting 4k @ 30Hz via the DVI port through the hdmi adaptor. I didn't even know you could get audio out of a graphics card DVI port till I saw the video. I also expected it to the limited to DVI's top resolution but that's not the case, so a £2.50 adaptor is a very workable solution. I will be buying an unpaid licence as soon as the trial is up. It's now easier to install OSX in unraid via kvm than on bare metal, superb vid!
