  1. Removed the two plugins, pulled the mouse and keyboard, and parity check speed jumped to ~25MB/s! So, huge improvement, but still suspiciously slow. Usually averages ~80MB/s, with spikes to 110. So you've solved my immediate problem of the parity check completing in a reasonable timeframe (thank you!), but I still think something is less-than-ideal. Thoughts?
  2. I've never used the Preclear plugin, I just heard it was a good idea so I installed it. Should I just delete it? Also, I can unplug the USB devices. I was keeping a mouse and keyboard plugged in for troubleshooting, but obviously they aren't a help right now. Yeah, not sure what's up with the loading. It's a Ryzen 7 so it's been able to chew up HEVC streams on Plex like nothing, yet it's now sitting idle at ~50%. I'll delete the file integrity plugin for now too. What should I get you to see if any of the above helped? Run diagnostics again? Something else? Thanks for your help so far!
  3. I'm doing a parity check, and it's running extremely slow. Right now the end date is 40 days. I remember running into this once before. I think what solved it last time was cancelling the check, shutting down, and starting up as a new config with a fresh UnRAID install on the USB. I'd like to avoid doing that if possible. Any idea what could be causing this? The check did find a few sync errors (up to 40 now), but it's been slow before and after correcting the errors, so I don't think they are the sole cause. Also, SMART status on all drives is good, and they are all <1yr old WD Reds, so I don't think it's drive failure either. Frankly, I'm at a loss. Thoughts? Diagnostics attached. lcars-diagnostics-20180503-1947.zip
  4. I've completed a parity check, and I now have the message "Array contains 1 invalid disk(s)". None of the disks show faulty, and the SMART status is fine across the board. Is this a bug, or am I just not aware of where to look to chase this? Fix Common Problems also detects nothing. The only thing I noticed was the parity check took 1 day, 5 hr and dropped to as low as 1MB/s at a few points. Usually it completes in 10-12 hours.
  5. Update: Everything is looking good. All data has been transferred, cache is online, and parity is being built. Thanks guys!
  6. Missed this earlier. Okay, from the symptoms I'm getting, that rules out the USB issue, so THANKS! I think changing the modes I mentioned before was just the "easy mode" version of changing the c-states settings on my CPU. Currently into hour 3 of a test, and it's looking good. I think you guys may have solved this. I'll give an update at the 24ish hour mark.
  7. Okay, I agree with you about the Ryzen issue then. Not sure how to edit the C-states exactly, but I have an Asus board, and when I go into the setup, I noticed I had left the power setting on "Cool and Quiet". Can I get away with "Normal"? The other option is "Asus Optimized" but that looks like it just maxes performance. I'm already over-spec'd for a simple file server with a Ryzen 7, so I don't think I need that.
  8. That's what I've been saying about the USB drive. I've gotten no feedback on that, but I'd like to get an opinion on that before I start messing with deep BIOS settings.
  9. Ping returns 100% packet loss, and I don't have a keyboard and monitor attached. Now, the latest is I can't get the server to respond even after power cycling.
  10. Thanks for the thread link! Before I go tweaking settings I barely understand, does anyone think the hot USB theory is viable? I can order a new one off Amazon for almost nothing, and I'm sure Support would be okay with helping me transfer the key.
  11. Okay, I think I tried at least part of your suggestion, see attached.
  12. I have no idea what you're talking about. I type the network address into my browser, and the server shows up (or it doesn't). What are these other methods?
