  1. I did see that, and that is one of my shares. But i have no clue what it means.

Obviously its telling me that "getxattr" has failed, on that share. But what is it? Is something i did, something i can fix? Is my drive screwed? And why is it only happening on a cold boot? Why not every boot?

  2. So,

My unraid machine, shuts down on a night. (Full shutdown not sleep)

The past few days (maybe a week), i come home from work, turn the girl on, and when I goto use it, theres nothing there.

So i log in to the webui, and my shares are unavailable, and the docker service failed to start.

I dont think, I've done anything besides update, dockers, and plugins. I did tweak a couple of shares' SMB settings, but thats about it.

I do run a tweak to my boot up. I run an FTP server on my phone, when th eserver boots up, she looks for my phone, and pulls the password. But this has been the case for 2 years now. I know, i know. But its no more insecure than anything else. It stays on my phone and is only accessible from my local network. It just saves me from having to log into the webui every bloody day, just to unlock the thing.

The fix for this, seems to be to reboot. But obviously i dont want that.

I've added my diagnostics, any help finding the culprit would be very much appreciated

First (...1403) is after a cold boot. 18hrs shutdown

Second (1506) is taken after rebooting the machine, and received no errors

  3. Been messing with it. And it would seem to me that plugins are now using more RAM, during Library Scans.

When jellyfin updated to 10.6.0 I began having issues running out RAM. With me doing nothing to my setup, besides updating Jellyfin.

I started taking out plugins, and now my RAM usage is under control (or atleast so far it is)

  4. Hey,

I did not. I backed up then deleted jellyfin in my appdata, then search for and installed jellyfin from CA.

But I got that figured out, the full library scan wasn't adding anything. But running a scan on each library individually did the trick.

Now I am back to square 1 though. I began this because jellyfin randomly started using up all my system RAM. Now i have a fresh install, re-added libraries, scanned everything in, and my rig is using 93% of the RAM. This was never an issue until the last 3 weeks maybe? She usually only runs at about 72% of my meagre 8GB.

  5. Hey guys im having a problem.

Dockers and plugins all updated a few days ago, and i've managed to narrow down my issues Jellyfin.

My unraid machine will use up all the RAM, and grind to a halt. After lots and lots of turning Docker images on and off, its Jellyfin. After lots of rebooting, restarting, and removing plugins, i have found that the xml files in 'appdata/jellyfin/data/plugins' are not getting read.

    I stopped Jellyfin.

I removed all the plugins and checked manually for any leftovers.

Started Jellyfin, installed Kodi Sync Queue.

Restarted, and altered the settings for KodiSQ to only hold 14 days.

Restarted, the setting are back to default (0 days / Unlimited)

So I check the xml file, and its set to 0 days.

I edit the xml file, to be 14 days, restart, and the settings are default.

So i try with AudioDB, just to set it to be Enabled for use.

Same problem with the xml file.

So, the xml files are created, but jellyfin isnt reading/editing them at all

    Then theres the log files:

So theres a few errors in there for XmlKeyManager, and I think im at the limit of my GoogleFu!

    Please help

  6. YES!!!!
    YYYYYEEEEAAAAASSSHHHH!HH!!!!!!!!

    DID IT!!!!!

    F*%& Yeah!"!!!

    It was the EOL.

    Googlefu - https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/254644/how-do-i-remove-newline-character-at-the-end-of-file

    Fix

perl -pi -e 'chomp if eof' myfile

Not a clue, but it worked. Started looking for ways to strip EOL from files, found this, it worked. Now to fight with android and ftp :)

  7. OK so, we've figured out the server is receiving the keyfile. By adding "cp /boot/keyfile /root/keyfile" to the go file, and having the keyfile on the flash

But she's telling me its the wrong encryption password.

So, i remade the file in kate. No luck

Remade in gnome text editor, no luck

Remade using cat > keyfile, no luck

Tested contents of file by copy pasting into webGUI, unlocks. Its not the passphrase, its not the file being in the wrong place, its the file itself.

Don't know if its an option or not, but I know someone said they used a picture as their keyfile, and i know its possible to use seperate passphrase and keyfiles. So can it be done? Can i just setup the array to use something else as the keyfile? And unlock with either the random keyfile (a random file) OR the passphrase?

Am i missing something when i make the keyfile? Saving the file as "keyfile" no extention or anything. Should i just give up?

  8. Tried manually copying the keyfile to /root

    Rebooted

    No luck

Because the keyfile that was there, is no longer there???

    root@Hal-9000:~# cp /boot/keyfile /root/keyfile
    root@Hal-9000:~# ls
    keyfile mdcmd@
    root@Hal-9000:~#

  9. Right,

-Server started and unlocked using normal passphrase, through firefox

-Phone given static IP on router

-Edited go file exactly as shown

Although unsure as to which ` ' im supposed to use around the password (tried both)

Attempted all possible combinations of ` ' and without, IP address is correct, file path is correct (tried several different paths)

-Logs don't show any attemp to access ftp let alone failed attempts for me to debug

Screw it, i'll stick to passwords. This shouldn't be this damn difficult.
