  1. Thanks gacpac, I discovered a couple errors when I was reinstalling associated with paths. Once I removed/fixed it installed fine. I did the reinstall through the previous app section but after seeing your post I'm sure the orphan was in there too. Thanks for responding
  2. I just performed and update and now my plex app has vanished from my dashboard. I find it in previous apps but it fails when I attempt to reinstall. Im a noob so please be gentle. Thanks
  3. Things have been running very well on my server.... LOVING IT The other day I was notified that Plex needed an update so I fired it up and let it run.... kinda forgot about it then discovered it was hung up. X'd out and BOOM plex was gone from the dashboard and in Docker..... Rebooted but still nothing Not sure what I have done or what to do..... Hope the right files have been downloaded tower-diagnostics-20180624-0838.zip tower-syslog-20180624-0838.zip
  4. ok thanks..... hopefully all good. But I will need to add another drive to that suspect slot
  5. Completed without error. Is this now a see what happens kind of scenario or is there something I should be doing? Thanks for your help everyone
  6. I'm running a short smart test.... is the result something you want to see?
  7. Ok so I did the following - stopped array, shut down, checked screws, moved 8tb (parity) drive from D-1 to D-2 slot, powered up, stopped array, unassigned, started array, stopped array, assigned parity, check for rebuild and started array back up.... Hope that's right based on past info...?... Parity drive is also now on a different board as top one connects top 4 hdd's and bottom board, bottom 4 hdd's A couple of screws on the mount for the cards where loose.... not anymore. Attached is diag. and smart I struggle with it being a power thing as the other drives that are powered by the same "board" have yet to show an issue when this parity craps out. But I'm a noob so.... tower-smart-20171223-1456.zip tower-diagnostics-20171223-1451.zip
  8. OK No I wanted to see if it was just a seating error (might still be) but I will move it this time Thoughts on checking all the screws and that on the boards? Can I un seat, tighten and reseat without issues? So don't worry?
  9. Sorry but I am not sure what you mean by or how you check for single vs multiple 12v rails Case is a NORCO RPC-4308 4U
  10. My brain is leaning toward a physical issue.... Rational being that only the one drive appears to have the issue (upper left in the pictures below) What I am thinking is that at one point (when powered down) double check all the screws that connect the boards to the case. Maybe its loose on the left side??? My concern is that: 1) it's a dumb idea that could make things worse 2) unseating, tightening and reseating the drives will result in more errors Any suggestions / advice is welcome
  11. Unfortunately, It happened again last night.... all have been running well... Over the last few days I have been writing a lot of movies to the array and had to add another data drive (about 7 days ago) I was thinking of doing @johnnie.black procedure above and moving the drive to the last available spot...but I have another 8Tb I am getting ready to install so I will need this spot in the near future. Again I will wait to hear from the more knowledgeable first.... but with being on Christmas break we had some movie watching planned... tower-diagnostics-20171223-0844.zip
  12. Thanks @SSD I suspected the same but am to new at this to be confidant Yes I am using a hot swap case. I has been really nice as I have been adding and increasing drive more than I thought I would...... data hoarding is a disease but I do love my movies LOL I did reseat the drive in question, it seemed tight but who knows.... maybe not quite enough
  13. Well I am happy to report that as of this morning it is all green dots!!! About 20hrs to rebuild....... any theories as to why so that I can try to prevent it occurring again? Thanks again for the help
  14. Thanks again!!!!!!! Also is there a way to check if any data is lost??
  15. Came home at lunch and did as @johnnie.black posted..... it's currently syncing with about 15 hrs estimated to complete.... so far so good Is there anything I should post at this time? ???? is it ok to access data while parity sync is going on???
  16. Thanks johnnie.black, I will have to try that later as I had to go to work and have not set up remote access yet (if you have a link to remote setup that would be great) Truly appreciate your assistance!!!!!
  17. Sorry I'm a noob and your probably going to eye roll me but.... how do I re-sync?
  18. Hi Johnnie. black, I powered down, pulled drive (hotswap) and re seated, powered up and downloaded the attached SMART report..... thoughts / next steps???? EDIT added diag..... tower-smart-20171215-0658.zip tower-diagnostics-20171215-0703.zip
