Sorry. I forgot to post this before... I think the memory is bad.. I just had it come up with Call Traces Found. I've had to restart it a few time since I posted this post.. whs-diagnostics-20180115-2137.zip

Ok.. I know this has nothing to do with it.. But since I paid for unraid, I've had it lock up and a few other things. Anyway, Here is what's going on now. I had unraid ether crash or lockup or something about 15 minutes after putting in the paid key. It stopped responding on the computer I was using. I then went to the main computer with a monitor and keyboard. I already had the gui running since I'm still making sure everything is transferring and everything like it should. On the screen (computer running unraid) it was still on username for login. I couldn't do anything. I waited a few minutes and tried again. Still nothing.. So I unplugged it. Yes I made sure no activity lights was going. Once I started it up, everything was good except that the dockers wasn't there.. I went to restart the server again (using the restart button) and it starts then goes to a black screen and is still running.. Monitor cuts off, but fans etc still going.. I waited again, then unplugged it again.. I started it back up and it was running fine. All the dockers etc was running like it should have been. Then it stopped responding again.. Now, it still doesn't shut down, and the dockers are gone (with the error Docker Service failed to start. ) So now I'm stuck with just a broken OS.. Any Ideas on what I can do to repair this? As I said in the beginning, it all started right after I put the paid key in. Before that It was running smoothly.. Also, I'm running 6.4.0

Ok. I'm confused.. LOL Where is that at? I'm almost done setting the new parity and going to be able to add drives. Is it in the settings with adding drive? I don't see anything yet. But I can't stop the array yet.. I don't know what UD means. I know I'm stupid, but I am a newbie.. I still have a few hours left for parity.. I'm hoping this will finish up soon..

I put two drives in my new setup and I did the preclear to test and get the drives ready, but I have decided to use them as plex temp drives (one for data and one for transcoding) and since I've wiped them, I can not mount them.. I think the only way to add a file system will be to add the drives to the pool then remove them. But, I am worried that once I add them to the array that I will not be able to remove them easily. Any suggestions? The case if a pain to open and remove drives. I have to turn the computer off and pull the case out from underneath a desk, open both sides etc.. Just a pain. I am hoping that I won't need to pull the drives out to do this.. Thanks in advance..

Ok.. Now.. You just said about windows share credentials. I have access and the files was not locked or anything.. But I don't know how to set permissions in unraid..

Ok.. That makes since.. I copied the files from my backup external drives to the pool through krusader... So I just need to finish restoring my backups then run the fix, right? Also, since you seem to be a grand wizard or grand pooba of unraid (stuff you wrote and as many post that you have), do you know of a tool or something that would let me backup my files from a share to a usb drive automatically? Reason I ask is I have everything backed up on it and had a sync program running on windows so it the system went down, I would still have everything.. I have my drives in a fire safe hooked to a 3.0 hub so if its a fire, I still have them.. Only thing I have found so far is to copy them my self with krusader... I can't run the docker safe until I get through preclearing drives. But basically, I just need to go there and hit run? I had to replace three drives that died (or was dieing) from window to unraid. I am preclearing the new drives now. Just taking a very long time.. To build the parity took three days with hardly anything on 6 3tb drives. Now I have 10 3tb drives and two 4tb drives. and the second parity will be done in 2 days.

I was on windows.. I was running windows server 2008 then I started having issues, so I just went with windows 10.. Now I thought I would convert to unraid and try to use it from now on. I have heard alot of good stuff about unraid... So far (other then screwing up a few times) I really like it (I just wish unraid could serve Itunes apple tv, I'm switching to plex now).. What do I need to do? Thanks for the quick help..

Every file I try to delete says this. I made a new user and tried making new shares. I know I'm kinda new to Unraid (I've screwed up a few times as proof) but I swear I can't find where I am over looking.. I can add files, but not delete, move or anything else. If I use Krusader, I can delete them.. Any Ideas where I'm over looking? Thanks..

Thanks. I just wanted to ask because I'm kinda scared to try to many things because I don't want to lose what I have. That's why I'm asking the best ones to start with, at least so I can have everything backed up. I was just wanting to know others opinion on where to start.

Thanks. I'll try that tomorrow. What about backing up folders with a sync or something similar? Will that docker you told me about do that? I'm sorry I'm not up on this software yet. Hopefully soon. Thanks again for your help.

I am new to unRaid. I just installed it and got it up and running with most my drives so far. My question is this: I was running windows 10 on the computer before changing to unraid. I have 7 USB hard drives that I backed up all my data to and I really don't want to have to transfer over 30 tb of data over my network at 11mbps. I will if I have too, but I just wanted to ask if there is a way to transfer it from the usb drives to the shared folders straight hooked up to the drives? What is the easiest and fastest way to do it... Also, I'm wanting to hook up all the external drives to a powered USB 3 hub (*see below for more) and possibly have it keep everything backed up on those drives, sorta like I did with windows (sync software). That way if the system goes down, I still have access to the data without any complicated rebuilding process. Last quick question. I don't see a way to add drives after I've built the array. Am I overlooking something? Can I add a drive if a folder starts getting too full? I was hoping unraid would be sorta like Drivebender or Stablebit in windows, where I could add a drive if I start running out of room. * I'm thinking about adding a USB3.0 controller to the computer instead of a hub, which would be better??? Would Unraid see the Controller, or just leave it with a hub? I'm posting a photo of my Server (my so called server). I know it's a mess, but I am just trying to get everything finished before cleaning it up and closing the doors. Yes I know it's not a real server, but I built it with stuff I had and parts. Also, I am running three controllers for now. I am hoping to switch to a SAS later when I get the money.. Thanks in advance for any help..
