  1. Hi you all, I'm still at Unraid 6.6.1 but I'd like to update to 6.6.5. However - I need the DVB drivers (LibreELEC). Can you tell me exactly what I need to do when I download the package from piotrasd to get it working under 6.6.5? THANK you in advance Best regards Michael
  2. That's right. It also took me a few minutes to figure that out. Hello you all, I also managed to get Mojave installed as a VM and everything seems to work properly. The only thing I'm waiting for are the NVIDIA Web Drivers for Mojave. Then my passed through GTX 960 will work again. Best regards Schlichi
  3. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H Mainboard with 16 GB RAM DDR3 RAM and two GPUs: NVIDIA GT 710 (for booting UNRAID) and an NVIDIA GTX 960 for passthrough to Windows 10 and macOS. You can see my whole hardware in my Signature. Greets Schlichi
  4. After the first installation sequence there is a reboot. Then in Clover you have to select "Install macOS..." in Clover - NOT the regular "Start macOS...". Greets Schlichi
  5. Here GPU passthrough works without any issues. Greets Schlichi
  6. You‘re missing the whole qemu:arg stuff at the end of the XML. Without that, the VM won‘t be able to boot. Important: You lose your manual editings of the XML file if you use the regular VM mask of UNRAID again afterwards. Greets Schlichi
  7. Wow! Germany is with 2% the biggest non-native-english speaking group... Did you ever think about localizing UNRAID in other languages - e.g. German, Spanish, French? I think that could help you increase your numbers in non-english-speaking countries. Greets Schlichi
  8. I only use <qemu:arg value='Penryn,vendor=GenuineIntel,kvm=on,+invtsc,vmware-cpuid-freq=on,'/> @gridrunner: What does +avx,+aes,+xsave,+xsaveopt do? Greets Schlichi
  9. Hi! I switched to UNRAID just a few weeks ago and I'm VERY happy with it. I even sold my MacMini after getting my macOS VM running smoothly and got a MacBook Air instead. My macOS VM now is a lot faster than my Mac Mini was before. I got a Xeon E3-1231v3 with 4 cores (8 threads). I assigned two cores solely to my VMs and two cores to UNRAID, Plex, TVHeadend etc. First I also thought about having macOS and Windows VMs running at the same time. But that requires two GPUs for the VMs and doesn't leave enough resources for Plex and all my Dockers. I decided to go for a solution to switch between macOS and Windows and therefore having more powerful VMs (even gaming is possible). Of course you can always get a CPU with more cores - then running macOS and Windows at the same time while still having enough resources for Dockers won't be a problem. But then you need an own GPU for every VM (or use VNC instead). My UNRAID setup now has: - Plex (as a Docker) - TVHeadend (3x DVB-S2, 1x DVB-C) for Live TV & PVR (as a Docker) - oscam (for descrambling German HD+ channels) (as a Docker) - JDownloader (as a Docker) - SABnzbd (as a Docker) - webgrabplus (for getting EPG data to TVHeadend) (as a Docker) All the dockers only use CPUset 0 and 4 - except Plex & TVHeadend - they use 0, 4, 1 and 5 because they can do transcoding. My Windows 10 and macOS VM have CPUset 2,3,6,7 - a passedthrough NVIDIA GTX 960 GPU, a passed through USB 3.0 PCIe controller (Inateck), a passed through AWBW Hackintosh WLAN/Bluetooth card (Broadcom BCM43602) and a USB Soundcard (connected directly to the passed through USB 3.0 card). gridrunners Tutorials really helped me a lot (Thank you!)... 10. Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that I got my GTX 960 yesterday and I'm VERY happy with it. It worked out of the box for me, because I had already installed the NVidia Web Drivers in OS X before (using my GT 710). OS X runs a lot more smooth with the new GPU. Now it really feels like a genuine Mac. However, HEVC Hardware decoding in macOS does NOT work. But that was expected. It does however work in Windows 10 - e.g. with MPC-HC or Kodi (it doesn't work with VLC). I played a few 4K HDR movies and my CPU barely went above 20% while I had perfect playback. :-) I also started downloading a few Game-Demos in Windows 10 to test the cards gaming capabilities. But that took too long yesterday, so I will test that tonight. Now my UNRAID server is perfect for me. Greets Schlichi
  11. I would like to second this request. I want to be able to change the resolution of the UNRAID GUI. Greets Schlichi
  12. You assumed correctly. I don't know if you know any German - but Amazon says the following about my card: - Keine Stromanbindung mehr erforderlich, dank optimierter Leiterarchitektur This means: - No external power supply needed anymore, thanks to optimated circuit architecture. The card gets the power from the PCIe slot. I have connected a few things directly in the card (e.g. Bluetooth or my USB soundcard). In the active USB hub I have currently only connected my Mac Keyboard and Mouse. I bought the hub primarily to have USB ports ON my desk and not below it, so I could conventiently plug in USB harddrives or my iOS devices. Greets Schlichi
  13. No problem: I use this one: https://www.amazon.de/Inateck-USB-Karte-Port-Expresskarte/dp/B00HJ1DULE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517213668&sr=8-1&keywords=mac+pro+usb3+pcie Working out of the box in macOS High Sierra. I also use an active USB 3.0 hub and it works without any issues. Exactly. I had to do this as well. You can follow this guide: Greets Schlichi
  14. THANK you for this thread! For macOS High Sierra I use this icon: Have fun! Greetings Schlichi
  15. This question of mine hasn't been answered yet. Anybody got an idea where this comes from? Is it maybe because I used hostdev and not qemu:arg for passing through my GPU and my USB3 controller to the macOS VM? Greets Schlichi
  16. Don't worry. Of course I googled a bit and what I found supported your statement, that the GTX 960 can indeed decode H.265/HEVC in Windows. It should also be WAY sufficient for my other needs, as I'm only a very casual gamer and also got a PS4... I don't want to spend 300€or more for a GPU that I don't really need. A used GTX 960 for 90-100€ would be okay. Especially because my CPU is "only" a Xeon E3-1231v3. Greets Schlichi
  17. Thank you! So this card should be okay, right? Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 Mini OC, 4GB If yes, I'll get a used one from eBay. I know that High Sierra supports HEVC, but I thought only with compatible CPUs from newer Macs and NOT with NVIDIA GPUs. But if you say it also works with NVIDIA GPUs - it's even better. :-) Oh and I got another question: When I start my macOS VM I can see in the log the following error: Domain id=7 is tainted: custom-argv It's only when I boot up the VM and only in the log file. The VM boots just fine. Do you have any idea what that is? Or should I just ignore it? Greets Schlichi
  18. But the 4K HEVC will only work in Windows, right? Because I read macOS only supports CPU Hardware Acceleration with 4K HEVC (Kabby Lake), but not GPU. Is that correct? Which Media Player do you use for 4K HEVC playback with GPU HW acceleration? Greets Schlichi
  19. But for UNRAID GUI only the x1 should be ok. Or not?! Is the GTX 1070 supported by OS X? And do I really Need such an expensive GPU for HEVC 4K Video decoding? I‘m not really a gamer. Greets Schlichi
  20. Hello you all, first of all I got everything working now. Got a USB3 PCIe card and passed that through to my OSX VM and now Bluetooth, WLAN, Handoff and everything works. However I'm not that happy with my very slow GPU. It's a NVIDIA GT 710 with PCIe x1 and only 1 GB VRAM. Originally I got that as a GPU for UNRAID itself and wanted to use my other GPU an AMD Radeon R7 240 for the VMs. That works fine in Windows 10, but for OS X I have to use the GT 710. But because my Server isn't fast enough to properly run Windows 10 and OS X at the same time, I think it would be a better solution to get rid of the Radeon GPU (which sits in my PCIe x16 slot) and get a better GPU that works fine with Windows AND OSX and use the GT 710 only for UNRAID GUI. So can you recommend a proper GPU that works in OS X? The GPU should also be able to do HEVC decoding in Windows 10 because my CPU isn't able to do that properly. I'm not a big gamer, so it doesn't have to be High End. Just a proper card that OS X does support. Thanks in advance! Greets Schlichi
  21. What do you see on your screen when you boot up? Greets Schlichi
  22. I updated from RC21 to stable 4.0 and my macOS VM runs as good as before. Greets Zodac
