  1. Unfortunately I did not find an answer did you?
  2. I have a single ubuntu VM setup on my machine for running a variety of tasks where dockers are not the best option. Recently my VM appears to have lost the network bridge configuration from the form view (see the first attachment). Additionally, the XML (see spoiler below) does not appears to contain any reference to the br0 interface. This makes sense as my poking around in ubuntu itself does not seem to show any current network interfaces at all. I have restarted the server, the docker and VM services, and the network bridge without any changes. Can anyone help in getting reconfiguring the VM for network bridge access or an alternative option? Please let me know if any log or other files would help.
  3. Thanks for the help dmacias. I tried your suggestion as well as various other mount points, but was not able to get the drive to work. It constantly fails to mount on startup. Currently the drive is formatted as xfs. Perhaps that is the problem? What is the preferred drive format? Are there any system dependencies I should have installed that I might be missing? Thanks again for the assistance.
  4. Hi everyone, I am in the process of setting up a mythbuntu VM backend. I have passed through a 750gb non array drive to use for recordings, but I am not sure how to have the system mount the drive on startup. Any help will be appreciated thanks.
  5. Hey Everyone I'm in the process of transitioning my drives to XFS. I have copied all of the content of my original drive to the new XFS drive according to step 7. When I ran the "rsync -nrcv /mnt/[source] /mnt[dest]/t >/boot/verify.txt" command as indicated in step 8 the output file appears to contain a list of all of the files on the original disk. I do not believe this is proper as several posts indicate that this file should be empty or contain very little information. I wanted to check and see if I am missing anything before I delete the files on the original drive and reformat it. Is this the proper way to verify the files are the same, is there another process I should use, or does the output indicate that the copy wasn't successful. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Upgrade Options

Thanks for the reply garycase. I will take it under advisement. Im not planning on any hardcore virtualization projects. My main goal is to run a mythtv backend for an HDhomerun network tuner, which from my research has to be run in a vm. If I can save some money on the MB CPU purchase that will help offset the purchase of the tuner.

    Upgrade Options

Hey Everyone Im thinking about upgrading my current unRAID setup to a faster processor to possibly take advantage of some of the new virtualization features in version 6. Unfortunately my current motherboard (ECS A885GM-A2) is not compatible with the current generation of AMD processors. This means I will also have to upgrade my motherboard. Luckily I have found two cpu mobo combo options that won't break the bank. I wanted to make sure there are not any compatibility issues with either option. I also would like to hear the advantages of going with the more expensive 6 core processor vs 4 core processor. My current system has a dual core AMD processor, which I think is around 3.0 Ghz if memory serves me. Option 1 $134.98: mobo - http://www.microcenter.com/product/423652/GA-F2A88XM-D3H_FM2-FM2_mATX_AMD_Motherboard CPU - http://www.microcenter.com/product/427566/A10_7700K_38_Ghz_Black_Edition_Boxed_processor Option 2 $159.98: mobo - http://www.microcenter.com/product/366425/GA-990FXA-UD3_Socket_AM3_990FX_ATX_AMD_Motherboard cpu - http://www.microcenter.com/product/401797/FX_6300_Black_Edition_35GHz_Six-Core_Socket_AM3_Boxed_Processor Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the help every one. I managed to get it working this afternoon. For some reason using unetbootin on my mac was not creating a bootable drive. I have a Windows XP virtual box running on my machine and reconfigured the USB drive using the Windows XP. This solved the issue and allowed me to boot into UnRAID. Thanks again for your help and suggestions.
  9. I recently purchased the ECS A885GM-A2 Motherboard but am having trouble booting into UnRAID. I believe it is a problem with how I have the BIOS Setup. If any one can help me find the correct setup that would be much appreciated.
  10. Thanks for your reply but I'm still at a lose. I have tried everything I can thin of and it still does not seem to work. My motherboard also allows me to select the boot device in a temporary fashion. When I select the flash drive it still results in the same issue. If anyone knows the correct BIOS setup for an ECS A885GM-A2 motherboard I could use the assistance.
  11. I recently took the plunge and bought the components for my UnRAID server. I assembled the components and they all appear to be functioning, but I am unable to boot into UnRAID. I configured the OS using my MAC according to the specifications in the wiki, but when I attempt to boot into it all I get is a flashing white cursor in the upper left hand corner. I believe it is either an issue with the BIOS setup or the OS configuration. I am really at a lose as how to proceed. Here is a list of the relevant components.
