I recently hung a Shelly in front of my NAS so that I can measure a bit of current and was quite shocked
Ryzen r9 3950x
128gb ddr 4 ecc
11 Hdds 2 Ssds 1x 1660 Super GPU and that's more or less idle power
I tried Powertop and optimised everything,
I have got the Gpu Idle States under control.
But unfortunately I can't get any further
How to manage c states on ryzen?
-

got the gpu on passthrough to a vm for my gf to game on. but if i turn off windows it still drawing that much power
-
I enabled everything on powertop.
Measuring also with shelly
-
Yea so one hba card and all sata ports occupied. How to deactivate graphics card? Its passtheough to the vm atm. When i shutdown the vm power usage wont change

Hello i got a NAS with an r9 5950x 64GB ECC Memory 5 fans and 12 Disks + 2 Sata SSDs.
And for gpu passthrough in a vm an 1660 Super.
Idle Power usage is always aboth 170w. - With no VM and most of the Docker container turned off
mostly about 230w. with vm and docker up
Any better way to reduce power a bit? or did i made a wrong choice with the processor?

Hey all!
Got a small problem with my win 11 VM with GPU. After a few minutes i cant access it anymore , from parsec nor is there any display output.
VM is still started.
Thats the logs.

yea switched from an old intel xeon 1230 to this 16 core beast. still ryzen is a bit difficult with compatibility i see
-
will do today. one question: if i would change to ecc ram, would it be better with file corruption and general stability? AMD does work with it right?
-
this is the error which i got. cant get diagnostics out of it,
fixed the cache partition with xfs check
-
cant get them, need to do a force shutdown do make system work again.,
here the diagnostics.
AMD Ryzen 9 3950x. Typical Idle power is set. also ram to normal values
-
-
tried this. still crashes in the middle of the night.
I really dont know why this happens. nas is up. hdds are clicking as usual, lan port is also normally blinking, so i really down know why it set itself in this state.
-
Hello you all.. I´m still got the problem about nas crashing every few days or hours. totally randomn. got a hetrix uptime monitor to check it. and sometimes its dying in the night, sometimes after a few hours after reboot...
I really have no clue. also updated to RC4, to maybe see if that fixed the problem, it didnt.
only a hard shutdown by holding the powerbutton helps.
-
i changed the docker from macvlan to ipvlan and it fixed the problem
-
Docker started
Docker service stopped
-
I have got still a problem with my server, when docker service is turned off i can ping to any site - and also update plugins and install plugins etc.
When I start the docker Service unraid can´t access anything over the internet. sooo update service isnt working for any docker or plugin, and also can´t install any docker apps.
None of the docker apps are started yet, still no connection to outside world from unraid. I can access it over the internet tho.
i really dont get it why it does that.
Thanks for you help!!!!
