  1. ...Maybe getting ahead of myself, but I really dont want to go much longer without a parity drive. Assuming I cant get the PCIE SATA expansion to show up, can I replace two of my harddrives with one bigger one? Or is that too sketchy without parity? I have the following.. 12TB, 8TB, 8TB, 8TB, 4TB I would like to replace and 8 and 4 TB with one 12TB. And that will allow enough sata ports to have my parity drive again. But not sure how I would do this without any more SATA room. Can I do this with the new 12TB connected via USB?
  2. ended up going into my bios and it doesn't seem to be detecting the pcie card. I've also tried a new card and it wont detect that either. I've tried both PCIE cards in all slots and its not detecting. Could my mobo be toast?
  3. Removed the NVME and still unable to get the Parity to show up. Any other ideas?
  4. Yes the NVME is a somewhat new addition. When I added it a few months ago it wouldn't consistently be detected to mount and so I just ignored it for a while. Now it consistently shows up to mount so I could see that being the issue. What would my best next step be? Just remove the NVME or can I tell my system not to let it take over a SATA slot?
  5. My parity drive disappeared recently and need help trouble shooting... - Parity drive is connected to mother board via PCIE - I've tried connecting the drive to one of my other SATA slots and it can be discovered that way - I don't have enough SATA slots to work around without my PCIE Sata card - I replaced the PCIE sata card thinking that may be the issue - New PCIE SATA card shows up in BIOS, but parity still wont show up on UNRAID What else should I be doing to troubleshoot, I have attached my diagnositics Thank you garthplex-diagnostics-20230910-2138.zip
  6. Having issues with a drive that is "unmountable". I haven't had any issues with any drives in the past. This happened after a recent reboot. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks garthplex-diagnostics-20220919-1323.zip
  7. Hi, I've been having issues with my newly added NVME SSD. It has never consistently worked since I installed it, but seems to work every now and then. I tried adding nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 to my boot flash but that didn't seem to work Recently before it went down, I got a notification about it overheating, so maybe that is the problem? Below is what I think the import log lines are. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Garth garthplex-diagnostics-20210220-1342.zip
  8. at the bottom of the syslog it says Feb 11 16:57:30 Garthplex kernel: vfio-pci 0000:01:00.0: BAR 3: can't reserve [mem 0x72000000-0x73ffffff 64bit pref] ### [PREVIOUS LINE REPEATED 1076522 TIMES] ### Feb 11 16:57:43 Garthplex kernel: vfio-pci 0000:01:00.0: BAR 3: can't reserve [mem 0x I have attached a new diagnostics file just in case garthplex-diagnostics-20210212-1022.zip
  9. When I start my VM my syslog fills up. I recently made some changes and am looking for support on how to fix this. - Added M.2 pcie SSD (currently unassigned, but my intent is to move my VM onto it and keep it outside the array) - My GPUs switched pcie lanes on the mobo. (moved the one I am using (NVIDIA) to the faster one). The other GPU doesn't really get used (AMD) I have attached my syslog, any help would be greatly appreciated. garthplex-diagnostics-20210211-1716.zip Thanks!
  10. Hi, When I first built my Unraid Server its main use was for plex, but now I also want a decent gaming set up. I've been having issues with some games (not all) running on my VM. They tend to be the newer games with higher specs such as Fifa 21 etc.. I'm not certain but I believe the issue is likely the read/write speeds of the game files. I guess my question is 2 part 1 . How can I determine why some games aren't working 2. would adding a dedicated NVMe help me? 3. Can I add the SSD outside of the array so it is dedicated to the VM? FWIW I was considering a Crucial P5 1TB 3D NAND NVMe Internal SSD Any help is appreciated, let me know if you need any additional information Thanks! garthplex-diagnostics-20210130-1221.zip
  11. A disk in my array wont mount and I can't find any issues with the drive. If its relevant, this disk used to be a parity disk but i replaced it with a larger drive, then precleared it to be put in the array. garthplex-diagnostics-20210120-1012.zip
  12. Hi I'm looking to have my parity2 (12TB (sdh) become my parity1 and operate as a single parity. With the current parity1 (8TB sdd) I want to move it to my array as a data disk. What would be the best way to approach this? Thanks!
  13. Hi recently I went to remotely access my VM and I couldn't, so I checked the status of the VM on unraid and it was paused for some reason. I tried to restart it with a monitor attached and it froze on the windows 10 loading screen. I then tried to restart without the GPU assigned (i recently added the GPU so I figured it was causing the issue, it was previously working however) and I got this error cannot create file '/etc/libvirt/qemu/Windows 10.xml.new': Read-only file system I then tried to restart again this time with the GPU and I got the following error Hook script execution failed: internal error: Child process (LC_ALL=C PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin HOME=/ /etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu 'Windows 10' started begin -) unexpected exit status 126: libvirt: error : cannot execute binary /etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu: Input/output error I have attached my diagnostics On a side note, I'm concerned I may be getting close to the limit of PSU, is there a way to monitor my power usage? Is it related? Any help is appreciated! Thanks garthplex-diagnostics-20200414-1910.zip
