  1. I've tried both the original USB thumb drive and I've tried a new thumb drive created with the USB Creator tool. I get the same errors from both.
  2. The mobo/CPU died in my unRAID server. I moved Drive 1 & 2 + Cache Drive to a new machine. Reboot and I get: usb 7-1: device descriptor read/64, error -32; usb7-port1: attempt power cycle. usb 4-3: new full-speed USB device number using; usb 4-3: device descriptor read/64, error -32, etc. It will boot, but complains it can't initialize ip6tables table 'filter': Table does not exist (do you want to insmod?) Perhaps ip6tables or your kernel needs to be upgraded. Then it gives an IPAPA address of 169.x.x.x. Both USB 2.x and 3.0 ports give the same results. I made a new unRAID flash boot drive and get the same. I'm at a loss for what to try next.
  3. I continued experimenting. I tried the Intel NIC in a different PCIe slot and the Intel 82574L card worked! I don't know why. It's able to PING the router just fine. Hmm... Well, I'm going to close the book on this thread.
  4. UNRAID version 6.8.3. If the e1000e driver is already included, it's not recognizing my Intel 82574L network card. The Realtek onboard NIC is recognized and it works. lshw shows: 04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection. As a test, I disabled the onboard Realtek NIC. I get the error: Device "eth0" does not exist and no IP is assigned to the Intel card. Is there a .plg file to install? The instructions to untar the module file, compile it and insmod don't work on UNRAID.
  5. I must have tried 35 different things until I ran across another thread in the forum. I upgraded the UNRAID mobo to a Gigabyte GA-970A-DSP3 and from another thread, found that I needed the IOMMU Controller to be ENABLED in my mobo BIOS. Problem solved.
  6. I'm so happy you posted this thread. I upgraded my UNRAID server mobo to a Gigabyte GA-970A-DSP3 also and could not for the life of me figure out why I kept getting an APIPA address. I must have tried 35 different things until I ran across this thread. That was it. IOMMU Controller needed to be ENABLED in my mobo BIOS.
  7. I've been reading other threads about this same issue. I tried three different thumb drive brands, sizes, etc. I've verified that the LAN connection is good. I notice that *none* of the thumb drives get mounted to the file system and are not found with df. Perhaps this is new with 6.8.3? I get: Modprobe FATAL: cannot find module in /lib/modules/4.19.107-unraid Cannot find device bond 0. I can run diagnostics, but there's no /dev/sda to mount.
  8. I upgraded the mobo in my UNRAID server. I also upgraded the NIC. The NIC uses the e1000e driver as a loadable module only. I'd like to load that module from the GUI mode. When I try to boot to the GUI mode, it says that it cannot connect to the localhost. I feel like I'm caught in a Catch 22.
