Booting issues after moving to a new PC

Featured Replies

The mobo/CPU died in my unRAID server. I moved Drive 1 & 2 + Cache Drive to a new machine. Reboot and I get: usb 7-1: device descriptor read/64, error -32; usb7-port1: attempt power cycle. usb 4-3: new full-speed USB device number using; usb 4-3: device descriptor read/64, error -32, etc.

It will boot, but complains it can't initialize ip6tables table 'filter': Table does not exist (do you want to insmod?) Perhaps ip6tables or your kernel needs to be upgraded. Then it gives an IPAPA address of 169.x.x.x.

Both USB 2.x and 3.0 ports give the same results. I made a new unRAID flash boot drive and get the same. I'm at a loss for what to try next.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having problems.  When you made the new boot drive, did you do that from scratch or did you simply copy the configuration over from your old drive to your new drive?

All the best,

Jon

I've tried both the original USB thumb drive and I've tried a new thumb drive created with the USB Creator tool.  I get the same errors from both.
