  2. Browser: Chrome A horizontal scrollbar develops when the window is at 1280px or less width. Based on the selection of the media query at exactly 1280px the intention is likely that horizontal scrolling develops at less than 1280px but not equal to 1280px. I have been able to work around this by adjusting the media query: From: @media (max-width: 1280px) { #displaybox { min-width: 1280px; max-width: 1280px; margin: 0; } } To: @media (max-width: 1280px) { #displaybox { min-width: 1270px; max-width: 1280px; margin: 0; } } Notice the change in the min-width. This is a workaround and the cause of the issue likely lies in some other element(s) contributing 10px extra width.
