  1. Ah thanks... didn't even think to try the wifi bridge route. I'll try that first and if that doesn't work, I'll go the power line route. Thanks!
  2. So, I need to temporarily move my Unraid box to a location that doesn't have an Ethernet connection. I have a spare NetGear A6210 wifi device and was trying to set it up in Unraid, but I'm not having any success. I've read that the WiFi device should be supported by the Mediatek mt76 Kernel Module. Is there any tutorials or articles on how to set up a wifi device for use by Unraid? I'm not running anything heavy on this box, it's just used to hold old family pictures and videos.
  3. Success! I was able to get the data off my "dead" drive using UFS Explorer. Next time I need to replace a drive, I will not format the drive.?
  4. Yeah, I know. Lesson learned... I took the format as "prepping the drive" to have the parity data written to it, not tell Unraid that I'm deleting everything on that particular drive and then to update parity. Luckily, it looks like most of my important files are still around, so not a total loss. I will definitely be backing the files up onto something else. I'm hoping I can mess with the "broken" drive and get some files off of it. When I plug the drive up to an external dock, it powers on and spins up, but Windows won't mount it, it just throws errors that show up in the event viewer. I plug it up in Linux, I can see the drive, I can even select it, but then it throws an errors saying it can't mount. I'm hoping I can get something like UFS Explorer and get access to the data.?
  5. Looks like most of my family videos and pictures are still on the array, might just be missing some of my tv shows and movies. Anyone know if it's possible to recover a bad drive? I loaded up Mint and plugged the bad drive up to a external port and got an error mounting /dev/sdc1 to mint, wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock.
  6. ? I'm not sure... I just thought the drive had to be formatted. Ugh... I don't even know what I lost now. Years of family pictures and videos gone because I didn't following the damn instructions exactly. Gotcha, thanks. I can't get the old drive up and running... and unraid was my backup. Ugh...
  7. I formatted the drive to xfs before starting the parity sync/data rebuild. I fooked myself didn't I??
  8. One of my data drives died over the weekend, so I replaced it with a new 4TB drive (as big as my parity). I followed the directions at https://lime-technology.com/wiki/Replacing_a_Data_Drive and all seemed well, though I did not see a checkbox as listed in step 9 (Put a check in the Yes, I'm sure checkbox (next to the information indicating the drive will be rebuilt), and click the Start button). I started the array and it started running a parity sync/data rebuild. I let it run over night and it completed fine. Unfortunately, the drive shows that it is only filled with a few gigabytes, not filled up like the previous drive. Am I fooked? Did I just redo my parity, cleaning any recovery of the dead drive? I still have the old drive. If I can get it up and running, is there a way to rebuild the parity based on it? I'm running Unraid 6.5.2. Thanks.
  9. So, does that mean I should let Sickbeard and CouchPotato handle the post processing of the files? Right now I have SABnzbd doing the post processing via categories/sorts that I have set up (one for TV, one for Movies). I set the HTPC share to use cache, then I added a new Downloads share that is cache only that SABnzbd will download to. I figured, once SABnzbd is finished downloading, it does it's post processing and copies files to the HTPC share. The mover at night should then move the files to the data disk correct? Thanks for the help and sorry for the late response (holiday travel and plans last week).
  10. I have the latest stable release of unRAID installed. I just recently upgrade to Pro and am a little confused on how the cache drive is suppose to be used. I have 4 2tb data drives, 1 2tb parity drive, and 1 60gb cache drive. I have two shares, both with "Use cache disk" set to No: Apps, HTPC HTPC share has two directories: TV, Movies I have the following plugins installed: SABnzbd, CoachPotato, Plex, and Sickbeard. SABnzbd plugin is installed as follows: Install directory: /usr/local/sabnzbd Data directory: /mnt/cache/Apps/SABnzbd SABnzbd itself is setup as: Default Base Folder: /mnt/cache/Apps/SABnzbd Temporary Download Folder: Downloads/incomplete Completed Download Folder: Downloads/complete My questions: [*]How does the mover know where to move the downloaded files from Downloads/complete to my data drives? I'd like my TV shows moved to my HTPC/TV share and my movies to HTPC/Movies. [*]I'm getting issues when post processing files. It says I don't have access to create folders /TV/<Show Name> and /Movies/<Movie Name>. [*]I have Plex library and Temp directories set to /mnt/usr/Apps/Plex/Library and Temp. Should I move these to the cache drive? ie. /mnt/cache/Apps/Plex/Library and /mnt/cache/Apps/Plex/Temp Thanks for any help.
  11. How did you get the server to boot off this drive? I have the 8gb version of this drive and it won't boot so it's just basically sitting on my desk doing nothing.
