  1. I've not made any real progress. Since moving everything from the cache drive and basically not using it, everything has been performing better despite running from the mechanical drives. Been slowly fixing dockers with corrupt databases but think now everything it back up and running. Noticed now that my sadnzbd download speed is also much lower than it used to be? Before would sit steady at 110mbps download and now seems to peak around 50-55mbps... I know it was my read speed that was that same speed and not write, could this be the same issue? Either way its not working right still.......
  2. I've created a new vm on the array and installed windows for testing. But I cant find the server from within that vm?
  3. I did try that before reaching out and also e1000 and at the time didn't make much difference.
  4. Here's a windows 11 machine connected to the network testing speed to the root of the nvme, hitting the 1 GbE limit.
  5. Yeah vm with a passed through nvme for boot, drive in question is a single drive nvme cache. I'll see what I can do. Its almost unusable in this state, playing .mp4s from it in vlc struggles It says it has the 10gbps link
  6. I thought as a vm it would be directly connected? I've seen multi gig before and my switch / lan has only even been 1000mbps? Also internet speed on the vm is get full 1 gig speeds on speedtest. Not really sure what to do.
  7. Here's unraid client and vm server. And the other way round.
  8. Yeah they're recent drives wd golds 6tb. I created a new share only on the array. Its pretty much the same with reads being slow and writes being what they should be, odd.
  9. I do but no sata ports available, anything else can try? Appreciate the help thank you. Edit: How do i go about removing the cache drive from the array? Could try re-adding it perhaps and/or test the nvme drive in another device?
  10. Copied a 2.2gb rar file from vm desktop to the root of the nvme. Peaked to around 70mb and low of around 20mb
  11. Bump Just tried manually trimming the drive, still the same
  12. I noticed when accessing my nvme cache drive from a windows vm it was feeling sluggish. A while back I remember switching my vm network model to Virtio and running crystal disk mark and achieving multiple gig. Disk shares is enabled and I'm accessing the drive in windows via \\192.168.0.48\nvme This is what it is now. Nvme drive is a sn770 2tb Thanks in advanced for any help. tower-diagnostics-20230613-1940.zip
  13. Hi, thanks for helping. I added that and also tried and tested many other things but finally have answers! A faulty 13900k and some faulty cablemod customs psu cables.. I ordered a i5 13500 and another "cheap" z790 board to test hardware. Cpu didn't work properly on both boards. And cables would cause issues like loss of display if the pc was knocked. Changing cpu and going back to my oem cables got everything working again. Have to say, cablemod have issued new cables at no cost and intel has agreed to refund my 13900k because "we can only offer you a refund for the CPU, because we were informed that the part or any alternate parts are currently out of stock and there is no ETA for new incoming stock" mad.
  14. Edit: I've narrowed it down to a hardware issue, possibly cpu or the motherboard. I will update and close this once I've found which. For some reason my windows 10 vm is going into a black screen after a few minutes of being in windows. I've been using this vm with a RTX 3090 passthrough and a 13900k with everything water-cooled and runs perfectly in bare metal booting straight from the nvme, motherboard is z790 Taichi carrara. I've had it say this in the vm logs right when it crashes qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Unable to power on device, stuck in D3 And this right after launching overwatch 2 and freezing -sandbox on,obsolete=deny, elevateprivileges=deny, spawn=deny, resourcecontrol=deny \ -msg timestamp=on char device redirected to /dev/pts/0 (label charserial0) error: kvm run failed Invalid argument RAX=fffff8016336500c RBX=000000000000000c RCX=000000000000000c RDX=0000000000000071 RSI=000000000000000c RDI=fffff80166e62f00 RBP=000000000000000c RSP=fffff80166e62e38 R8 =fffff80166e62f01 R9 =0000000000000001 R10=fffff80163365000 R11=0000000000000000 R12=000001f9f5b75cbc R13=000001fddf0054f8 R14=0000000000000000 R15=fffff80163c05128 RIP=fffff8016336500d RFL=00000046 [---Z-P-] CPL=0 II=0 A20=1 SMM=0 HLT=0 ES =002b 0000000000000000 ffffffff 00c0f300 DPL=3 DS [-WA] CS =0010 0000000000000000 00000000 00209b00 DPL=0 CS64 [-RA] SS =0000 0000000000000000 ffffffff 00c00000 DS =002b 0000000000000000 ffffffff 00c0f300 DPL=3 DS [-WA] FS =0053 0000000000000000 00003c00 0040f300 DPL=3 DS [-WA] GS =002b fffff8015ded9000 ffffffff 00c0f300 DPL=3 DS [-WA] LDT=0000 0000000000000000 ffffffff 00c00000 TR =0040 fffff80166e49000 00000067 00008b00 DPL=0 TSS64-busy GDT= fffff80166e4afb0 00000057 IDT= fffff80166e48000 00000fff CR0=80050033 CR2=000001fddf00d5c8 CR3=00000003ab694000 CR4=00350ef8 DR0=000001fd93feeee0 DR1=00007ff73f0d0540 DR2=000001fd918a07f0 DR3=00007ff73f7452c8 DR6=00000000ffff0ff0 DR7=0000000000000400 EFER=0000000000000d01 Code=cc cc cc cc cc cc cc ba 70 00 00 00 8a c1 ee ba 71 00 00 00 <ec> c3 cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc 44 8a c2 ba 70 00 00 00 8a c1 ee This problem has only just started happening, before it would run for days until manually shutdown. Please let me know any other information you my need to help me as I'm no longer able to use this vm. Many thanks. tower-diagnostics-20230501-1714.zip
  15. Is there a way I can disable the kernel disabling the core temporally? I've been using OCCT in bare metal windows and got the system stable but I still cant get them cores back? It was working originally. Using "cd /sys/devices/system/cpu" followed by "ls" shows all 32 cores Edit: I've figured it out. I added "mce=off" under Syslinux configuration. The cores are isolated and used only on a vm so for the meantime I'm going to run like this and see how it goes.
  16. I'll look into this further later today. It seems weird that everything functions fine when booting into windows? Maybe a warped cpu with bad contact to the pins? I've never seen a cpu sort of half work, especially with everything set to default + xmp. Thanks guys, I will post any updates.
  17. Hi, been a longtime Unraid user. Recently upgraded my system to a 13900k and everything been working fine. But now i'm having an issue. First noticed when my vm didn't boot and it said it was because a core was missing. I checked processor cores in system devices and core 12 and 13 are not there so only a total of 30 cores. Bios is stock in terms of voltages and cores. Booting bare metal into windows all 32 cores are present and all benchmarks work and run perfect including gaming for about 5 hours last night. Today I've tried update bios, swapping memory, recreating Unraid usb and copying over my config folder. Not sure what else to do. Thanks in advanced. Just ran a memtest and passed fine also. tower-diagnostics-20230316-1916.zip
