  1. Yea I got up to the point where it panics when usb was in, I decided to give up, and just wait for 5.0 final before tinkering again, my dedicated cache is still partitioned and has the OS installed just not booted to it, so I guess I'll try again one day. :] tanks for the info will help in the near future.
  2. BRiT are you using grub or grub2? My only issue is the only package of grub I could find for the 13-37 release was for slackware not slackware64, also did you install grub to root or mbr?
  3. I'm having issues myself, I've gotten everything compiled and booting, until I put unRAID usb in, (for the final part of install) it kernel panics.. because the USB is stealing the /dev/sda designation instead of going to SDB..
  4. Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, so please move if it is incorrect. I'm currently running 5.0 b14, 5 x Data , 1 x Parity, 1 x Cache. My memory usuage seems to be 1-5% on clean power up, and within an hour or so, it will fill up to about 90%+, was wondering if this was normal. I am currently only running "SimpleFeatures", and OpenSSH along side the default unRAID 5.0 apps. Should I be concerned, or is something set up incorrectly from my end. Thanks If you require any more logs please let me know, thanks.
  5. Sorry to dig this back up, but this was great information, couldn't find it on the wiki :] I'm going to attempt doing this to my unRAID box later this weekend, good to know it'll work with latest Slackware 13.37 instead of the 13.1 that was in the manual.
  6. Cont. RPTS from previous post ^^ (Not sure if you require the start reports, they look really similar to the finished ones so I omitted them) preclear_rpt_+5YD1Y2S8_2012-04-03.txt preclear_rpt_+5YD25FG8_2012-04-03.txt preclear_rpt_+5YD25FZB_2012-04-03.txt preclear_rpt_+6YD03A9G_2012-04-03.txt
  7. Hey Joe / Others, I just finished preclearing another set of drives (4x2TB Seagate Drives), got some different results then the first 2 drives I pre-cleared (WD EARX), wondering if these are okay, they look okay to me, except for the "near_thresh". Please let me know if I should add them to array (3 for data, 1 for parity). Also on a side note, I have another drive, that I was planning on using for CACHE, should I preclear it? Thanks again. (Next message will contain the RPTS portion) preclear_finish_+5YD1Y2S8_2012-04-03.txt preclear_finish_+5YD25FG8_2012-04-03.txt preclear_finish_+5YD25FZB_2012-04-03.txt preclear_finish_+6YD03A9G_2012-04-03.txt
  8. Perfect thanks, and everything I need protected is protected via another server :].
  9. I've been setting up my first unRaid box. it's has come to the point where I am slowly migrating data from my RAID 10 server to the unraid drives, my current set up is. UnRAID - 2 x 2TB Drives (No parity until I transfer everything over) RAID 10 - 8 x 2TB Drives My question is, after I finish the migrating, and add the other 8 Drives to the unraid array, will the files I copied over with split levels be automatically transfered between the disks after I add those disks to the split? Or will they reside on the original 2 Disks I had in the array, and continue to split on the other 8 disks I add after, becuase once I finish migrating, the 2 disks that were originally in the unraid array will be pretty much filled up.
  10. I'm not 100% sure on my results, first time I precleared, setting up my first array, if someone could give me the thumbs up? I attached both finish, and the other reports. These were brand new drives. EARX 2TB. preclear_finish__WD-WMAZA5542794_2012-03-30.txt preclear_finish__WD-WMAZA5710612_2012-03-30.txt preclear_rpt__WD-WMAZA5542794_2012-03-30.txt preclear_rpt__WD-WMAZA5710612_2012-03-30.txt
  11. How long does it usually take from Order of License Pro/Plus to receive the required files for license? I know it's only been 14+ hours, but I'm antsy to get it roaring to go, all my hardware is set up, 7x2TB drives, just awaiting license so I can start this bad boy and migrate my data over. Thanks.
