I setup nextcloud the same way spaceinvaderone did. So now im trying to loggin to nextcloud but can't find my user name its been forever since i had to make any changes

So i got unraid working. Update on another workstation worked. But now my nextcloud is not working. Says i need to update php 7.4 to php 8.0 or newer. Not finding a lot of info about this on the unraid platform. Any tips on doing this?

Moved the usb stick to an old workstation pc and got into unraid. I have updated to 6.11.3 going to check it one more time and than try it again on the new server.

Not sure what command does diagnostics. I can get files off the Usb stick from my windows system. Is there a good site or page that talks about updating the os to a newer version with out looking the key or info.

Turned off internal nic and tried just the killer 2100 nic card and no luck. Could this be a to old of a unraid version to work with the 12th gen?

I have tried ping sites from the unraid box and It doesn't see anything.

Yes to checking the ip on the console. It is the same as i had it set before. But I have also tried changing it and still no difference. I'm ok with updating the os just not sure how to do it with out loosing my data on the stick. SimonF not sure what your asking. If your asking if i can loggin to the os text command line that is a yes. Os gui is a no it will not load to a screen just loads to a blank screen.

The intel 2.5 gbe is set to eth0. Its built on board the motherboard. I can turn off the on board nic and just run the killer nic if that would get me in to update. Do I need to worry about the Mac info at all at this point?

So my hardware failed after 4 years. Now i have change it from x299 to z690 setup 12600kf cpu z690 gigabyte motherboard ultra. Intel nic also installed killer 2100 nic. So i have the ip address set static in unraid and can not ping that address. timed out. If i go on the usb stick and change the ip address of unraid by one digit i can ping the unraid server but can not loggin to the web browser address. ip address refuses. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Do i need to change the old motherboards mac address some how on the stick or in the text os loggin in? Also if i try to load the unraid gui os on the unraid server it loads to a blank screen.

I have installed iperf but not sure how to use it. I have looked at there website and the whole thing seems unclear to me. I change the mtu size from 1500 to 9000 for jumbo frames. I have tested a a 64gb file size on my to my server and transfer speed steady was at 112mb's. I will check it on the remote computer in the morning. 8am Testing the remote into the server i get only 1.5mb's avg tops out at 2.77mb's as low as 377kb's a second. ping test is only 38ms to server from remote pc. remote pc internet speed is 178 mbps and 24mbps up.. What should i look at next. I change the setting for the nvme spin down and removed the 3rd ssd that was not working for the cache writing. The dual br500 is rated to do 60 mb's a second over the vpn link.

Do i get iperf in the apps location or is it built in to unraid?

So I download the logs from the last 3 days. It does seem like something is wrong. I'm just not sure what. I have added the log if any one could take a look and see whats going on. Also it says the Write Cache is disabled on disk3. I have 3 cache drives. I have tried to enable the write cache on this drive but it won't. I have looked at the write that fix common problems linked to. the file I open and close every day is only 50mb. really 3 cache drives right now is over kill. velocityserver-syslog-20200123-0031.zip

I will look for that log. I'm still new to unraid and learning my way around it.

So i have a 9tb 4 drive wd red 3 tb each setup. The system is fast when putting files on the unraid system. But when i go to open a file thats on unraid server its super slow. Takes like 5 mins to just open the file. The system is a beast for a home server. i7 6850k 6 core 12 thread 3.8gz speed 16 gig quad channel 1 nvme ssd 2 sata 6gb all setup in cache mode 4 wd red 6gb 9tb final size main storage rx 580 8gb video card dual 1 gigabit cat 6 network to a br500 vpn router Is there something i might have done wrong to not get a fast upload speed to open files. My internet speeds to it is 500 down 25 up but it does this problem when im in the house with gigabit network so its not the upload speed slowing this guy now.

So I think I have setup this up correct. I think im trying to map the unraid server wrong. First I was trying by just going \\ip address of unraid server. I have been reading and just trying to make sure this is correct since I have to do this at the remote location. \\192.168.1.4\jack ipadress share Is this all I need to do to make to the unraid server on a vpn setup? p.s those are not the real ip address numbers or share name just using fake to show what im doing. Is there any thing I need to setup on the unraid server if I can ping the server on the remote network?

I have a unraid server at my home connected to the first br500 listed as home server, I have setup the unraid server and user accounts and tested and it all works normal. I have windows 10 pro on all pc's home & work. Under networks on the home br500 vpn It shows up all pc's on the network can see it and access it. Now i have setup a second br500 vpn at my bussiness and have a healthy link between both br500 vpn's. I have pinged both the br500 and unraid server at home from the bussiness and i get 30ms ping time. But when i put to network on my bussiness pc it doesn not see the unraid server and if i type in the unraid server address in the bar it pops up windows security credentials and no user name or password works at that point. Really im not sure whats its asking there Does any one have any idea's have how to get this unraid server mapped at my bussiness location? Netgear says its not there problem because the vpn is up and running healthy and we can ping the server and br500 from the remote br500 location and that i need to setup the server to link to the second br500 ip address. I have been working on this for 5 days now and im sure there is a lot i have left out.

I have install the latest stable unraid system on a usb. I setup the system and have been using the system. First flag I have found is when I start the system it doesn't just boot up unraid . I have to go into the bios, boot menu and click on the usb drive, than I have to pick unraid os system to load. Unraid is the only files on this usb stick it was brand new. Second flag I have been looking into is how I can get it down to 50 watts at idle. Right now its 97 watts at idle. what forum post do u guys think is best to read on first setup and learning how to use the software? I have used freenas some but still not that great at it. Also does anyone know where I can learn more about what dockers, shares, groups mean in FreeBSD/ unraid?

Yes I understand that it starts off of a flash drive. I'm asking if it will be ok to run it on non ecc memory? Also if I shut down the server will it loose any info?

So I have a high end x99 pc that I built for my gaming pc some years back and now moving to ryzen 3900x and have a need for home server/ data storage. Will unraid work ok for 24/7 without ecc memory? I have been testing freenass but I'm told using freenas is a bad idea because it will crash with the parts I have. Is unraid any harder to setup and use than freenas?
