Copying to UNASSIGNED device (SSD) very slow

Featured Replies

I set up an 2 TB SSD as UNASSIGNED device for storing VMs.

When I copy something to the disk it is extremely slow. Although I have a 10GB network.

Copying a 9GB file from my Mac to the disk is supposed to take more than 45 min.

This can't be right. Copying over a VM might take days...

Thanks for the link, but I am not sure if I understand this correctly.

I am copying from my desktop machine (from a ssd) over a 10GB network to another ssd (unassigned device).

I am not using any cache whatsoever.

The speed should be at least 250 mb/s - without any caching.

No.

I get 6 to 8 MB/s ...
