PCI Slots in Unraid - Relevant uses in 2021 considering it's PCI, not PCIe

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, really just a simple question that I have googled.

In 2021, what Unraid relevant/useful uses can you think of for a PCI slot. This should not be confused with a PCIe slot.

My Lenovo TS430 has one just sitting there, lonely and empty.

You could make into a X1 pcie slot for low profile cards

StarTech.com PCI to PCI Express Adapter Card - PCIe x1 (5V) to PCI (5V & 3.3V) slot adapter - Low Profile - PCI1PEX1 PCIe x1 to PCI slot adapter

or add another NIC additional USB2s.

Just curious, when you said that, did you mean a PCI native NIC+USB Controller (on one card, similar to this but PCI not PCIe)?

Hi, no I meant either a pci nic or pci usb card.

But you could plug a usb ethernet adapter into one of the usb ports.
