Multiple Disk Read Error

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I just came back to my server and realize it's in a bit of a "disarray"

Past few days I've been having issues with my Disk 5 (brand new drive) but running on a PCIE Sata adapter, ASM1061+ASM1093

Looks like it keeps hard resetting,

so after I noticed this, I used unbalance to remove everything off disk5 and kept it spin down for now (until my new HBA card gets here)

then a few minutes ago I came back to my server to see multiple disks having read errors (which is odd since some of these disks are plugged directly into my mobo's sata ports, not through PCIE adapter)

I'm clueless on how to proceed right now,

Really appreciate everyone's help,

I'm new to Unraid and have been running for the past couple of months without issue... until now :(

This is bad news, avoid using SATA port multipliers with Unraid.

This is the quite common Ryzen onboard controller issue:

Jan 30 00:54:55 Zeta kernel: ahci 0000:01:00.1: Event logged [IO_PAGE_FAULT domain=0x0000 address=0x8d706b9516e7db80 flags=0x0010]

First thing to try is to update to v6.9, that solves the issues for some.

Thank you so much,

I've already ordered new a new LSI HBA card,

after reading the forums about port multipliers... all that sharing just an PCIE X1...

and I saw your post on recommended controllers for unraid, thanks it was really informative!

I have a dell H310 LSI flashed to IT mode coming, should I re-route all of my HDDs to that and skip the ryzen onboard sata (controller)?

Is this a common Ryzen onboard controller issue?

Thanks again,

I just rebooted my unraid and everything is normal,

and parity needs to be rebuild
