emoore Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 Hey All, Please forgive my newbie-ness, first time doing unraid or SAS stuff. I've currently got a adaptec 5805 raid card in my enclosure (24bay, 6 backplanes), I had an old SAS expander (24 port) but it died and I'm looking for a replacement. I'm currently running it in JBOD for all drives (does anyone know if I can flash it into HBA mode?). I've found some cheap HP 468405-002 487738-001 cards but am unsure if they can be used without the SA-P410 or SA-P410i cards and without a proliant server. JorgeB Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 HP expanders (or any SAS expander) should work with any SAS controller, I have one with an LSI, though IIRC you do need an HP controller if you want to update its firmware. Quote Link to comment
