need Advice on system tests that can run of bootable usb

Featured Replies

Does anyone know a good free test program that can be booted from an usb stick?

looking for something that can show if the system is working as it should.

already run memtest and it cleared 1 pass

but maybe something to stress the cpu?

thanks in advance

I have found this...looks promising: http://www.stresslinux.org/sl/ for what you seek.

There are CD and USB images available for DL.

...haven't used it myself, since systems tend to be more reliable these days.

...Thanks to the Mods for fixing the link on my post above  8)

Regarding the creation of a bootable USB stick.

If only a CD-ISO is available or manual (i.e with dd) USB processing seems too risky...

This tool has never failed on me in making a USB bootable from an

existing CD-ISO: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Havent been able to download stresslinux yet seems the server has problems

got the hirensbootcd working

  • Author

as said before I managed to get the hirens boot cd ( usb actualy)  working and tried to use prime95 and core temps.

only thing is, core temps only showed 1 core. I asume due to the limitations of the minixp on the boot "cd"

since then pre-clears have been running, parity building, and data transferring.

when things settled own a little I will have another try

Havent been able to download stresslinux yet seems the server has problems

got the hirensbootcd working

...works fine for me as of now
