Hi,

My first unRaid Build...

I believe im fairly knowledgeable in computers but this is my first time building something like this so im seeking some advice from anyone out there... laughs...

im desperate to start building it... asap :))

PROCESSOR              Athlon II 260                                        $215 (price of Processor and Mobo)

MOTHERBOARD          ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO

                                Radeon HD 4200 Integrated Graphics

                                1xPCI-E x16

                                1xPCI-E x4

                                1xPCI-E x1

                                Realtek RTL8112L PCI-Express Gigabit LAN

                                5xSATA 3Gbps

                                1x eSATA 3Gbps

MEMORY                  2GB Kingston PC3 10600/1333Mhz          $22

PARITY                    1x2TB WD GREEN                                $105

STORAGE                10x2TB WD GREEN

CACHE                    1x500GB WD 7200RPM                          $46

CASING                    ANTEC 902                                        $175

                              nzxt tempest evo                              $132

PSU                      OCZ MODXSTREAM PRO 500W(80+)          $70

                            COOLER MASTER GX 550W (80+)              $85

I'd prefer the Sempron LE140 for power savings but im not sure if it can handle running torrent, and steaming of hd vids for 2-3 sources.

It is capable of supporting up to 20 disk including the cache and partition disk.

8disk - PCI-E x16

8disk - PCI-E x4

2disk - PCI-E x1

1disk - eSata

1disk - PATA

I'll appreciate all the comments/suggestions.

Thanks a lot.

You have 2 PSU's listed above.

If at all possible DO NOT use the OCZ power supply.  It has 2 +12V rails which will not allow you really any more than 5-6 Green drives.

The GX-550 is a much better choice as it has a single +12V rail with 44A available.  You should be able to easily power 15 Green drives from that.  If you want more than 15 Green drives then a different PSU is probably in order.

What is a partition disk?  Do you mean parity disk?

The motherboard you have listed will work, but I would prefer to use one with 6 onboard SATA instead of 5 onboard SATA and one eSATA.  It just makes things simpler.  The Antec 902 comes with an eSATA port, so you could still get eSATA functionality if you have a desire for it.
