March 25, 20215 yr There's a lot of this in your log: Mar 25 18:11:00 Avalon kernel: sd 10:0:6:0: Power-on or device reset occurred ### [PREVIOUS LINE REPEATED 1 TIMES] ### Check/replace power and data cables to the new disk.

Thanks for the reply. Drives are mounted in drive bays, so there are no cables to each disk - i have however checked (and reseated) the SAS / Power cables to the backplanes. I am able to add the drive to the array in another slot, just not the same slot the failed drive was in. Updated logs attached following system boot after checking power/data cables avalon-diagnostics-20210325-1915.zip Edited March 25, 20215 yr by RedSpider
March 25, 20215 yr Community Expert Current 6TB disk is the correct size (for 6TB), but the disk that failed for some reason was larger than normal: [sizeSb] => 5860765964 This is the normal size for 6TB: [sizeSb] => 5860522532 You'll need to replace it with an 8TB drive, or manually copy the data and do a new config.

March 25, 20215 yr Community Expert An unusually large disk? Shucked disks can sometimes have a different size, but they are usually a little smaller, don't remember ever seeing a slightly larger disk.

Typical - just my luck 😆 Thanks for the help - will order an 8TB and see what happens!
March 25, 20215 yr It looks as though you've fixed the resetting problem. I hope you can re-purpose the disk somewhere else.
