Trying to find a motherboard to fit three SAS cards

The GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P is awesome for the 4224. 8 onboard SATA and 2 SASLP cards gets you 24. HPA is disabled by default. If you can pick one up cheaply, a good option.

 

 

HPA on my board was definitely enabled by default.

 

Interesting. Mine is Rev 1.6, latest firmware, and it is disabled by default.

 

My board is a P35-DS3L with F9 BIOS, the most recent. I didn't even see an option to disable HPA until I flashed to the new BIOS. Man, seems like there's no rhyme or reason why some boards have HPA enabled by default while others don't.

Great price, but it's not worth the headache if it has HPA enabled by default.
