October 17, 200718 yr https://www.interproshop.com/commerce/transaction/order/orderstatus.jsp?czuid=1192660775123 I think its the same HDD but with no shipping or tax. Best Buy HDD at least in AZ was over $300 after tax and shipping were added. Of course you could not have the joy of instant ownership from buying on line.
October 18, 200718 yr Does anyone know when WD is releasing their RE2 line in the TB range? I don't think a caviar is a safe investment personally, but the RE2's are possibly the best drives I've ever known. So far 55 drives installed for various project, from different lots and stores, no DOAs! Some were installed 3 years ago. I'm very impressed. I'm looking for either this drive or the new cool running 1TB Sammy to come out.
October 22, 200718 yr i agree with your concern about the caviar series. However, as the parity drive in my unRAID, I am not quite as concerned. Obviously, with only three days of run time, I do not have enough experience to evaluate the drive fully. This much I can say, though: it was a flawless install, and I have noticed no slowdown of the system in any way, but then I would not have expected a slowdown from the parity position. So, this is already OT enough.
