March 2, 201115 yr NOt sure if this is the right section... I was wondering if it is possible to save our IP and the telnet option in Putty so every time you open it you don't have to type it in? Also can it automatically sign you in to your server without having to type root etc?
March 2, 201115 yr There should be a 'Save' button on the main 'Session' page of Putty to save the current session. You give it a name under 'Saved Sessions'. Then when you want to run that session you just click on it and click 'Open'. Not sure if there is a way to pre-fill the login info.
March 2, 201115 yr Author sweet that works thank you. Saving at least your username would be nice as well but for now this way less annoying!
March 3, 201115 yr Author If I set my username to root and have a password if I use putty once getting to the password part it does not let me type anything?
March 3, 201115 yr I have mine set with userid saved. do not have password saved. For the Connection--> Data Auto-login username put in root For Session put in your host or IP, port, connection type, etc In Saved Sessions put in the name you want it to be....then click the Save button Then when you use it, will take you to the prompt for password...type it in (it is hidden so you won't see anything when you type) then hit enter
