March 29, 201115 yr Author After sending my motherboard weeks ago to Supermicro, tech support just reported back to me: This is what engineers found. Celeron E3400 is “Wolfdale-3M” and desktop CPU. Our BIOS does support Yorkfield/Wolfdale R-0 CPU but don’t support desktop CPU. What does this mean? All I know is that they are saying the E3400 is not supported despite the few users here that are using it with the C2SEE. Supermicro is returning the motherboard back to me saying that there is nothing wrong with it...
March 29, 201115 yr I believe it means that the C2SEE will work with older versions of the E3400, but not the latest version. That's just my interpretation, I don't know if that is what they are actually saying.
March 29, 201115 yr Directly from Intel's site. BX80571E3400 Product Name Internal Code Name Step Ordering Code SPEC Code Status Code Intel® Celeron® Processor E3400 (1M Cache, 2.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Wolfdale R0 BX80571E3400 SLGTZ AC they only make one model/version of the E3400 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Celeron_microprocessors#Celeron.2C_.28dual-core.29 This is form Wikipedia "Wolfdale-3M" (45 nm) Based on Core microarchitecture All models support: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST), Intel 64, bit (an NX bit implementation), Intel VT-x Steppings: R0 Die size: 82 mm So that means "Wolfdale R0" = “Wolfdale-3M” they are the exact same thing, just two different ways of saying it. Did they say they tested out the board with a working E3400 processor when they had it?
April 18, 201115 yr Author Yay! After a long ordeal of Supermicro shipping my motherboard to the wrong address and then sending me a new motherboard, I got the system to boot up! I'm now running the preclear script on my 3 5K3000 hard drives... I guess I have like 30 hours to wait until it finishes.... *twiddling thumbs but happy*
