[SOLVED] "Unmountable: No file system" question

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Last night I replaced a dying disk with a new one. Parity-Sync/Data-Rebuild has finished but next to the newly installed drive it says "Unmountable: No file system". I think this may be to do with the fact that I forgot to pre-clear the drive. Anyway, it is saying I need to format the drive. But can I actually do that without losing any data? I don't want to ruin the array!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not related.

No, formatting will delete all the data.

Please post the diagnostics: Tools -> Diagnostics

Parity disk is invalid, when did that happen, after or before the rebuild was complete? Server was rebooted after the problem.

Parity disk is currently invalid at the moment as I'm currently replacing the old parity disk with a new one.

All the steps I've done so far:

- Removed old data disk and turned off server.

- Slotted in new 6TB data disk, assigned it and started array.

- When it was done rebuilding I rebooted and replaced old parity disk with a new 14TB one.

- Assigned new 14TB disk as parity and started array.

OK, so this was done after replacing disk1, in that case fix filesystem on disk1:

https://wiki.unraid.net/Check_Disk_Filesystems#Checking_and_fixing_drives_in_the_webGui

Run it without -n or nothing will be done, if it asks for -L use it.

Great, thanks so much for the help! I'll give that a go.

Would you recommend I wait for the Parity-Sync/Data-Rebuild to be finished on the new parity drive before fixing the filesystem on disk1? Or should I cancel it and fix disk1 first?
