kizer
Looks like its time to build another machine for a friend this time. They don't know it yet, but this this lady and her huband take pretty good care of my kid after school so I figured I'd help them get started on digitizing their collection opposed to having 3 or 4 portable USB drives. Darn it I have to calculate in the price of some Sata cables. LOL Quote Link to comment
furymaster
Nice case, but as far as I can see there is only one 3.5 adapter with the case? I'm curious how you install the drives (for me it would be 3 x 5x3 cages, but these are quite as expensive as the rest of the build ...). Quote Link to comment
mbryanr
Included with the case is a 4x3 cage. Additional cages for $14. kizer...check the top fan for a case of the "rattles". A good review I found before I bought the Azza 910 http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=939&page=1 Quote Link to comment
kizer
Thanks guys. I'm just trying to find something to replace my Cooler Master 590 and it appears to be one of the best replacements. I don't need all the large fans, but it is what it is. Quote Link to comment
furymaster
So the case has space for 12 drives internal? Quote Link to comment
mbryanr
It may hold 12 externals with 5x3s or after-market 4x3s...I only have 2 of the Azza 4x3 cages - with no space for a 3rd Azza cage (you can see where the 4x3s mount in the photo). Possibly another after-market 3x2? Also for those outside of North America, these are sold as the Super Flower SF-800 and Evo SF-800. Directron previously sold these in the US (out of stock). kizer
Could you remove the bottom screws in the lowest cage and just lower it down and only use the top screws so it would sit on the bottom of the case or would that still not afford you more space for a 3rd cage. Do you have a link to the cages? I looked and I can't seem to find them easily on NewEgg. mbryanr, Thanks for all your info so far it has been very helpful Quote Link to comment
mbryanr
I "think" you can move the cage downward and fit 3 total... I haven't had the need yet, and didn't want to give mis-information regarding the number of cages. I emailed [email protected] directly. They received my electronic check on 3/8 and it was at my house on 3/10 (California -> North Carolina). Very good service if somewhat indirect. Here is a link to the order form (my google docs account) Azza Order Form <let me know if the download is okay as I'm behind a proxy at work {which sometimes fusses about uploads/downloads to google docs} Quote Link to comment
kizer
Wow so it costs only $4 and the rest was in shipping. Thats cheap. So I guess it would pay to buy maybe two at the same time. Quote Link to comment
mbryanr
...cheap but solid. You can buy from us, it cost $4 w/o the fan, $8 w/LED fan plus $10 shipping cost in U.S Edit: just noticed they only charged me $4 for the cage and fan! Quote Link to comment
kizer
Droped the cash so I guess any questions I might have are going to be answered by myself. Quote Link to comment
Superorb
Have you considered the Aerocool VS-9? 9 exposed 5.25 bays, and it has been used in a built by mrUnPink here. Quote Link to comment
kizer
Actually no, but that would of been a very good one thou. I did noticed yesterday that you can't fit 3 cages in it without some work. It looks like you would have to trim a lower piece of sheet metal off, but would be hidden with the front cover to fit 3 AZZA cages in. If you used any other cage you would have to fold down flat the hard drive rails. I'll post up some pics soon. I spent some time on the case last night wireing things up for the intended person Quote Link to comment
