Tech-Man
Hi There, I've just taken over mantenance of a Unraid server with 6.6.6 installed, when selecting upgrade it just returns to 6.6.6 as only available. Is there a way I can copy specific files to this USB to update it to 6.9.2 without loosing any of the raid/data/vm/etc config? Thanks. Edited July 9, 2021 by Tech-Man Quote Link to comment
itimpi
You can always upgrade manually by downloading the zip file for the release from the Unraid site and extract all the bz* type files overwriting those on the flash drive. Before doing so I recommend backing up the current contents of the flash drive just in case any problems occur. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tech-Man
Thanks for confirming that, I was thinking the same, but wasnt sure if any structuring in the config files had been changed at a kernel level. Quote Link to comment

I think you are fine, but that was why I suggested you make sure you first backup the flash as that means you can revert and try an alternative update process. Quote Link to comment
Tech-Man
Yes, i restored my backup to another key and tested on a lab rig with updated bz files, all good 👍 Quote Link to comment
