Finally got my machine hardware setup.

Got 3 drives working as a test. all worked okay.

Then threw the old drives out. DRIVES FORMATTED AND SOLD.

Installed all new 4TBs, 3 then 6. Got everything working.

But the some system folders like iso, etc, were on the old array. BUSTED.

 

Got the New array started with 6 4 TBs new.

 

Did a full preclear 2 times (on the safer side)

 

Then (kinda).. follows ::::: instead of a copy, moved 8TB from another server of valuable data onto the new one. All was fine, extended the trial and and the works!

The Array was A O Okay.

Then Machine was off for a few weeks. Not cannot extend my trial.

 

Now,

1. Have a registered unraid BOX. Running currently,... fully and properly.

2. have another box with data (important) which has not access to the data (as drives cannot be mounted after the trial is over, with a Poorly installed unraid, due to my error.

 

What I want to do.

1. Keep my new Data.

2. Reinstall UNRAID properly.

3. Transfer my LIC to the new System.

4. Upgrade from the 6 drive to the 89USD version.

Yes have heard, I can put my drives into another system 1 at a time on a mac, on a PC with paragon etc,

 

but Since I own an Unraid LIC and also upgrading and now falling in luv with it, wish to avoid the nonsense. And since now ZFS coming in probably in a native config, maybe will add another LIC and convert (my 100TB Xeon) from FreeNas (not upgraded) Still on 11.3 to UNRAID. Its doing the job superbly, do not feel the need to try truenas, as unraid is my calling now. t u again

Issue is resolved.

 

I have been able to recover ALL the Data.

 

And Buying a New License.

 

Keeping the Old One.

 

So will have 3 separate Servers.

1. Freenas 100TB

2 and 3. Unraid Basic.
