August 27, 20214 yr I live in the eastern standard time zone. I recently went to Alaska, which is a 4 hour difference. My laptop's (Win OS) Date/Time is set to automatically adjust to time and time zone. It took four days for my laptop to adjust to the local time in Alaska. Upon returning, two days later, my laptop has not updated the time yet. I current have my UnRaid server set as the master on my network. My question is does UnRaid, as the master on the network, control the clients Date/Time? I have refreshed the time on my laptop to see if it would fix itself and no change. If UnRaid cannot help adjust the time, what other solution could I try to fix the time? Edited August 27, 20214 yr by sgt_spike

And even if you set it as the NTP server for your laptop, it won't change the laptop's time zone. NTP is only concerned with keeping the minutes and seconds accurate, it won't change the hours based on where in the world you are. You need to right click on the clock and adjust date and time, and correct your time zone.

In order to correctly set the time zone automatically, microsoft has to know where you are, to a rather fine degree of accuracy. Some see that as a privacy issue.
