[SOLVED] Added new disks, server not responding

Featured Replies

v4.7

I added two 1tb FALS disks this morning to the SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 card on cables P2 and P3. P0 and P1 were already in use.

Login will not appear with Putty.

No results when pinging the IP from Windows cmd.

Browser interface will not load.

I'm thinking I'll just hard powerdown, disconnect the two new disks, and reboot. Make sure things are how they should be, proper powerdown, then add a single disk. Repeat until things are fine.

Preclear reports from the two disks:

it sounds like the USB drive got kicked from the primary boot device.

it sounds like the USB drive got kicked from the primary boot device.

Oof!

Checking...

Something odd here:

You can see the SanDisk is the only boot device. But it's set to Forced FDD. I think that's wrong.

At least the bios is seeing the new disks that I added.

Forced FDD should be ok, it is what I use (using MB slots only)....but

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=9209.msg91639#msg91639

1. Forced FDD or "Auto"?

2. Boot/Hard Disks -> disable all except the flash

3. Boot Device Priority (only the flash)

Edit:  and....I forgot:

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=10769.msg102838#msg102838

Tried Auto for the disk type, but it would not boot. The other two settings were already in place.

The LED on the SanDisk does light up.

Not sure what happened there. I confirmed the SanDisk was in Forced FDD mode, as it was when I first checked the bios. Confirmed the other settings were correct. It booted just fine.

Thanks for the help.
