November 26, 200718 yr Hi all, To go with bubbaQ's low power initiative, I'd like to start a thread on small servers, both in size and in terms of number of drives. Such servers would fit many peoples needs. I am thinking 4-8 drives. The ambition is to create a low power server that will on 24/7, but maybe only used 10-25 hours a week. - One idea could be a 3 bay 5 drive cage, carrying 750 GB och 1 TB drives. - On the other hand, if access is of main concern, maybe more drives at smaller size, like 500 GB, since only one drive is spinning most of the time when the server is used. November 26, 200718 yr Depends on whether you want a conventional mini-tower, or a low-profile case like a VCR chassis. The latter would do better with two 3-in-2 cages.
