wildfire305
Hypothetically, if a drive failed on the 30th and a parity check was scheduled for the next morning, what would happen? By default, "Wite corrections to parity" is left turned on in this hypothetical scenario, and no user intervention is possible. Will the parity check destroy the data, will it stop and not run, what is the programmed response to this scenario? Quote Link to comment
itimpi
If you have a single parity disk and any drive (including parity) fails then the check will instead run as a read-check of the remaining drives and ignore the write corrections to parity settino. TIP: if you have the Parity Check Tuning plugin installed then the parity check history entries will contains additional information such as what type of check was actually run. Quote Link to comment
wildfire305
Thanks for the quick response. It's nice to know you guys have thought through these scenarios. I have two parity. Does that change anything? Quote Link to comment
