October 25, 20214 yr Community Expert The point of setting them to cache-yes is so Mover will move from cache to array (exactly as it says in that wiki). Then later in the process you set them to cache-prefer so mover will move from array to cache. Mover ignores cache-no and cache-only shares.

It might make more sense if you think of the setting meaning where new files are to be initially put when they are created. You then need to look at what action mover will subsequently take (if any) to put them into their final location.
