cache pool setting for shares gets ignored

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm using unraid 6.10.0-rc2 and maybe I'm misunderstanding something but the cache pool settings for my shares are getting ignored, meaning I created a share initially with the cache pool setting to 'yes' but since I want to copy a large amount to the share and my SSD fills up, I set the cache pool setting to 'No'. But when copying to the share it still uses the SSD cache pool (event after running the mover and moving all the files off the SSD).

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Have you restarted the array since making this change?   I believe there is a bug in 6.10.0. Rc2 where such a change will not take effect until the array is next started.

note that as long as you have set the Minimum Free Space setting for the cache pool (set by clicking on the pool name on the Main tab) to be larger than the biggest file you intend to copy then even with the Yes setting Unraid will start by-passing the cache when the free space falls below that value.

Thanks, after restarting the array it now works.
