Which USB 3.0 SSD enclousers work well with Unraid?

Featured Replies

Can you recommend any? I am mainly looking for SSD only as I won't use HDD + I don't have much physical space so I am looking for a compact enclouser which can still hold 4+ disks. I will pair it with HP Elitedesk 705 G4 mini, which already have 1 nvme 256gb and another SSD inside.

Read here and there that many of the enclousers are not well supported by Unraid so I am looking for something that works :)

Thanks!

What do you plan to do with this?

USB connections are NOT recommended for array or pool disks for many reasons

I want to store videos there, for PLEX. I just don't see another option for my mini pc.

You could try using an external enclosure as an unassigned device and map a path to it in the Plex Docker container.  USB is OK to use with Unassigned Devices. I use external USB drives in UD for backup purposes.  As array devices they can drop out (USB 3.0 in particular is very touchy) which causes problems in unRAID.
